The Kidnapping
By Neetha Mathew, age 11
Ginny listen to her heeled shoes going click, clack on a sunny afternoon in London. She was going to meet Hermione for afternoon tea at the diner on Main Street. She was glad that her mother at least reluctantly agreed to let her walk alone on the streets of London. "Mothers are too overprotective!" thought Ginny. And it is true. Mothers are overprotective. But, unfortunately, it's their job. Now, Ginny was very excited to see Hermione. (She hadn't seen or talked to Hermione for over 2 months. Hermione went with her parents (who are Muggles) to Bear Mountain for a week of skiing. She tried it once and fell in love with it. Hermione's been going ever since!) Ginny suddenly felt weird, as if someone or something was watching her......or maybe even following her! "It can't be!" thought Ginny. "Why would someone want to follow me? After all, I am only 11 years old? What would anyone want from me?" Ginny started picking up speed, faster and faster and faster and faster. She started to get scared. It was true. Someone was following her. When she finally realized it, she started running. Ginny heard something behind her........as if someone else was running too. As she passed the shiny window of the Hardware Store on Main St. she saw a shadow. A shadow of a man. A tall man. Too afraid to look back, Ginny started screaming for help! That's when the chaos began. People were staring at her as if she had eyes all over her body! Ginny heard the man running faster, pushing people aside yelling, "Stop that girl!" as if she were a burglar! Suddenly, Ginny felt someone grabbing her waist. She started kicking and screaming. Ginny was only a store away from the diner. If she had run faster then........it's too late. The man shoved her into a car with another man in it and they drove off at high speed. Just at the peak of a speeding ticket. Ginny was screaming in her mind. She couldn't believe it. She was just kidnapped. In front of everyone in London and what did they do? Squat, that's it, squat! "What help they are!" thought Ginny with sarcasm. "OH NO!" she screamed in her mind. She had just remembered.....Hermione, her mother, her family. They had just entered the highway. "Good-bye London," she said sadly.
"Shut up!" said the man. "From now on......you will live with us." Poor Ginny. Tears were pouring from her eyes. She missed her family a lot.......already. Even though they can be a pain in the neck!
"What's going to happen to me?" asked Ginny. "I'm too young to die!"
"You'll find out eventually." Said the man. "Now be quiet, your already giving me a migrane!" Ginny took a deep breath. She knew that this was going to be a long day.
