Wolf Pup

Chapter 1

"We're wolves." That's always fun to say. Yes, we love the open spaces and the feel of the wind in our fur. We change by nightfall, but that's the safest time to change forms without being seen. Sure, we could be wolves in the day time…but who would want to be trailed by a "dog" bigger than a Great Dane? I didn't think you would. In my pack, I only have two rules:

Don't Tell

Don't Love

Me, being the wonderful leader that I am, shortened it up just for you. We didn't think thee could understand our dialect. Back when I was human, my human parents called me Margaret.

I was born on April 22, 1837 to Amelia and Robert Farthington. Both of them died when I celebrated my 7th birthday. The law doesn't really tell a young pup such as I what really happened, it was said to be suicide. When your body is transformed, so is your mind and heart, I barely remember the life I led before the formation. The date now is January 22, 1998 and my current location is Louisa, Kentucky.

Awakening

"Please send Margaret Farthington to see the Headmistress." A loud crack echoed around the room; causing my sensitive ears to sting. The humans laugh mockingly and whisper taunts in my direction. Another crack is issued as the Professor fights to regain control of his class. He taps his ruler on the ancient chalkboard and sends up a small cloud of dust. The chalkboard itself is thickened by many layers of fine chalk dust of many different colors. It looks like a rainbow, but really it's just a forgotten relic that just never gets cleaned.

Focus old girl, and go see what the Headmistress wants of you.

I glance up to the Professor and he watches me for a moment, and then nods slowly. His green eyes flash angrily around the room; the students instantly become silent when his gaze reaches theirs. He knows about the wolves in this school, but he chooses not to speak of it. I stand, leaving a trail of the tiniest whispers behind me. They never realize my feet never make a sound when I walk or run. Stupid humans…HARRRAH FOR WOLVES!
