The Dog and the Snake
Welcome to The Dog and the Snake by yours truely, cassandralightcat. I'm planing on going up to 20 chapters before I finish. But anyway, enjoy.

Chapter One- Christmas in the Sand
"Temari, WHY did you get me a fan?" asked Tsuki. "I can't use it. I don't NEED to use it!! I have sand!!"
"I just did." Temari growled at Tsuki. "DEAL with it."
"Gaara, help me out here!" Tsuki complained.
Amaya laughed as she examined her own present. It, too, was a fan, only it had a silver dog on it, and the symbols of the five elements; water, fire, wind, earth, and lightning. The lining was dark blue. It was for decoration rather than a fight. As for Tsuki's, it has a shiny black and red snake on it that said 'Sabaku no Tsuki'.
"I think it's awesome." Amaya said brightly. Temari grinned at the compliment.
"See, Tsuki?! Amaya likes it!!" she yelled.
"That's her opinion." Tsuki answered. "Did you open the one I gave you, Amaya-chan?"
Amaya shook her head. "Did you open the one I gave YOU, Tsuki-san?" Tsuki shook her head as well.
"Open yours at the same time." Gaara muttered, not looking up from his work. "Just hurry up and open the gifts."
Amaya and Tsuki both grinned and dug into the present boxes and opened the gifts. There was silence.
"Tsuki-san?"
"Yes, Amaya-chan?"
"WHY did you give me a Houkou doll for a present?"
"I was about to ask you the same thing, except you gave me Hachimata, not Houkou."

Okay, here's the thing. Amaya and Tsuki are both demon vessels, or in Tsuki's case, she WAS a demon vessel. Houkou is the five tailed dog and Hachimata, or Orochi, is the eight tailed snake. NO, I did NOT make that up, that's just how it is, and uh...that's it. Good day.
