Axel stood waiting at the door for Roxas. His acid green eyes held a look of such deep sorrow and compassion, his tears barely held in check, and only because he wanted to be strong for his Roxas. He angled his head upwards and gazed into his lover's cerulean blue eyes. He sighed, and held out one of his arms.

"Come on. We should get going. We don't wanna be late." Roxas sighed and walked the few steps separating him from Axel. He fell lightly into the crook of the proffered arm and let a few tears stream down his face.

"Do we really have to go? That would be like admitting he's really gone." All Axel could do was give Roxas his silent support.

He stepped back a little, still holding on to Axel. Standing up on his toes, he gently kissed the lips of his love. He gave Axel a small, sad smile, and straightened out his suit jacket. From outside came the sound of a car's horn.

"That must be Cloud and Riku. Let's go." Axel held out his hand and Roxas took it, letting Axel lead him out of their small house. They walked outside, just as the mottled gray clouds overhead finally let loose their own burden, the small droplets of rain falling slowly at first, but soon picking up speed. They hurriedly got into the car.

Other than brief condolences and a quiet hello, the ride to the grave site was a silent one, no one wishing to make a comment on the approaching event. They quickly got there, and as Axel and Roxas started to get out of the car, the rain slowed down, evening out to a soft drizzle. They walked hand in hand up to the gate, waiting for others to arrive.

They didn't have to wait long, as everyone soon started to arrive. The first to get there was Kairi and Sora and Roxas' mother, followed by Leon and Aerith, then Cid, Yuffie, Selphie, Wakka and Tidus, and almost everyone who's life was touched by Sora's bright and cheerful attitude, and his wonderful friendship. By the time everyone had arrived, there was not a single dry eye in sight.

As everyone walked slowly up to the hill, the sun started to peek through the clouds. Roxas stopped and looked up towards it's golden light, reminding him of his brother's bright heart. He glanced over to see Riku looking up as well. "Nice day for a funeral, no?"

Riku looked over at him and gave him a small smile. "Not bad at all."
