Lennie

He was slow, like a child,

words went in one ear and out the other.

He was like no other,

a big man with the mind of a child.

He was strong,

and he knew it

yet he could not help it.

He could do 3 men's labor, he was that strong.

George was his idol,

he would only listen to him.

George was like a brother to him,

his one and only idol.

Rabbits, they were his dream.

Anything soft really,

but mostly mice really.

A small house with rabbits was his dream.

His broad shoulders slumped,

he stood cowering against the wall,

backed all the way up to the wall,

he stood there slumped.

He was scared when others panicked,

he became paralyzed,

totally and completely paralyzed,

then he panicked.

Lennie was his name, he is no more.

He died, killed by his best friend, his brother.

He never knew it was George, his brother.

He was gone in the crack of a pistol; he is no more.
