Disclaimer: I own nothing. Also, one has to have watched both Stargate SG-1 and the 'Into the Wild Green Yonder" Futurama movie for this to make any sort of sense at all.
The Odyssey cruised in orbit around a verdant and green planet. Even from orbit, once could see that is was filled with a variety and quantity of life that one rarely saw elsewhere. There had just been one problem.
That planet had been completely barren a few days before. Colonel Carter had commandeered the Odyssey to investigate. SG-1, stood on the bridge looking down on the planet.
"It's incredible," Carter gasped. "The whole planet's filled with life. I can't even see any part of its surface that it isn't green!"
Daniel gazed at it.
"Perhaps it's an Ancient terraforming device," he hypothesised. "It could be like the one we found on Dakara. That would explain the strange energy readings we picked up earlier."
Cam looked at him. "Hold on, I thought the Dakara Superweapon destroyed life, not created it."
"Yes, but its original purpose was to create and seed life across the galaxy. But it was reconfigured as a weapon by Anubis."
Cameron frowned. " Did the Ancients leave behind any sort of technology that can't be used as a weapon?"
Daniel adjusted his glasses as he replied.
"You shouldn't trivialise the ancients, Colonel. They were not weapon designers. They revered life and wanted to spread it across the galaxies."
"They revere life? And that's why they left so many superweapons behind? The Dakara Superweapon, the drones, that gate-busting thing Anubis had…"
"They-"
"Can it, Jackson. The latest report from Atlantis states they found an Ancient device that caused tumours to form in people. Explosive tumours. How is the revering life?"
Their argument was interrupted by Carter.
"Something just dropped out of hyperspace. Something big. Something really big. And-"
She looked over the scanners.
"This can't be right."
"What can't be right, Colonel Carter?" Teal'c spoke up for the first time since they saw the planet.
"The scanners say…that it's alive," she breathed.
"You mean like a Wraith Hiveship or something?" Daniel said, shooting a dirty look at Cameron.
"No. As in…it's alive!"
"What? Alive alive?"
"Yes!"
The thing passed into the Odessey's line of view. Carter, Cameron and Daniel's jaws dropped. Teal'c raised an eyebrow.
Daniel was struggling for words.
"What…what is that?"
Teal'c replied, as stoic and calm as ever.
"It appears to be some sort giant space travelling manta ray carrying a world on it's back, Daniel Jackson."
"Yeah," he said weakly. "That's what I thought it was."
