Hello! I'm GallifreyGrl. I've written fan fiction for a long time, and read it for even longer, but never gotten up the nerve to post it. This however is a new fic, inspired by a dream mixed with a desire to write a seasonal one-shot(well a two-shot, really). I suppose if people like this I can use it as a springboard a full length fic.
For those interested I'm listening to This is Gallifrey, as I write this.
One more thing: I'm trying to make the Doctor as ambiguous as I can, so you can see whichever Doctor you prefer in the role.
~Part One~
The Doctor's laugh caught in his throat as the TARDIS lurched harder than usual.
"What is it old girl?"The Doctor asked, shocked, "What-"
The police box crashed to the ground. The Doctor spilled out of the TARDIS, slamming his head on what appeared to be a banister. The last thing he saw as he closed his eyes was hundreds of tiny stars on a green sky?
"Guys!Guys! Come on! It's Christmas! Yeah!" The Doctor woke with a start, getting a head full of pine needles as he sat up.
"Come o-" one of three young adults gasped, "Oh my do-"
"What?" The Doctor look closer at her shirt. "What? How?"
It was him,and the TARDIS, perfect images, on a womens t-shirt. The girl looked down, then at him and then down, and up again. She stumbled backwards, nearly falling if it hadn't been for her brother.
"Aiden..." she nearly whimpered, "Tell me I'm not going insane."
"Going?", he asked with a laugh, earning a slap on the arm. "Mina, you were born crazy."
She rolled her eyes and shifted her gaze to the Doctor, noting his confusion. "You look a little shocked. Would you like an explanation?"
He nodded. "Well I don't really understand it myself, but you've traveled to our universe, probably by accident, and in this universe you happen to be a, a um, TV character..."
"I'm not surprised, sometimes universes leak, and the right mind can pick it up. Is it any good, this show?"
Mina giggled, "Oh, it's wonderful!Gives people a little more adventure in their lives. When you laugh, we laugh, when you cry, we cry..." she paused wondering if she should go on. She did tentatively, "When you loose someone, God do we loose them too."
Sensing the drop in the mood, Aiden came to the rescue. " So, Doctor, you realize what day it is?"
The Doctor's smile crept back, " I do believe someone made sure the whole house knew."
All eyes went to Mina, "What? I love Christmas, okay?" She ran over to the tree and grabbed a gift from the tree. "Aiden. Here's one from me."
Soon all three had a stack of four gifts in front of them.
"Alright ready? One, two, two and a half...GO!"
Suddenly the room turned into a wrapping paper frenzy.
Aiden had new tennis shoes, two CD's from Mina, and a small device from the Doctor.
"It's a modified cell phone battery, universal signal and internet. Don't abuse it." He told him with a soft smile.
Next was the middle of the three siblings, Anna. She received perfume,a pink iPod cover and over the ear headphones, and a handbag from the Doctor
"TARDIS technology."He explained, "Bigger on the inside."
"Oh my gosh! Thank you!"
Mina went last. She got a new pair of red high-tops, a gift card to the local music supply store, and a coupon for one trip in the TARDIS. But she frowned,
"We don't have anything for you, Doctor...wait! It's not much but I have an idea."
She came running back with a camera and hit a button and ran over to the others.
"1,2,3,Merry Christmas!"
Look for part two tomorrow or Monday, depending on what all the family and I do tomorrow.
Merry Christmahanakwanzule, everyone! And to any atheists and agnostics out there...um... Seasons Greetings? :)
