Hypothetically/Kapil-Sumona
"Hello, Kapil sir."
"Hi."
"Mera sawaal aap se hai."
"Acha wow. Bataye." He doesn't show but Kapil gets nervous for a second. Direct questions for him never a good sign.
"Humne..."
"Aapne aur kisne?"
"Ji?"
"Humne toh aise bola ke pata nahi kitne log hain."
"I mean, maine aur meri friend show ki undekha scenes ki videos bhi follow karte hain. Toh maine aapka 1st episode ka clip dekha toh uspe question tha."
"Ji puchiye?"
"Aapne usme kaha ke 'Don't touch my ex-wife.. toh mujhe janna hai ke hypothetically agar aap dono ka divorce hota toh kis wajah se hota? Because you clearly love her so much."
First time in history of the show, audience, cast, crew all go quiet, deadly silence and Kapil tries to process.
"I.. sorry?"
Kapil don't know how to respond, meanwhile backstage everyone has heard it as well and Preeti is fuming as why this question wasn't moderated?
"Hypothetically agar.."
"Hypothetically?" Kapil tries to shake the atmosphere by with laugh but it also comes out forced. He is caught off guarded by the question. He looks at audience but no one is willing to help because they all are so invested to know what Kapil's answer will be.
"Aarre kya aap log toh... maine galati se kya bolo aap log toh peehe padh jaate ho."
"Sir, please bataye na."
Meanwhile backstage Preeti is fuming.
"This is a total disaster!" She motions Chandan to go on stage to which Chandan says his entry is not till later and he is still getting ready. Preeti goes to look for Ali, he can handle it.
Kapil tries to make a joke and tries to get away but fans starts in unison asking for an answer. Kapil knew his pairing with Sumona is quite popular but this popular amongst ALL ages, he had no idea.
"Hypothetically agar main aur Sumona di..." He cannot even bring himself to complete the sentence, it's quite a loaded question even if it's a hypothetical.
Sidhu ji motions for him to go on, just answer it.
"Agar aisa hota toh wajah..."
"Aisa kabhi nahi hota." A new voice cuts him and Kapil doesn't need to turn to know who is his savior. Suddenly the silence is filled with cheering and claps, audience loves Sumona, no matter what. She has won their hearts like he did.
"Hello."
"Hello ma'am."
"I know, sawal aapne Kapil se kiya hai, par jawab main dena chahongi."
"Ji please."
"Hypothetically, main Kapil ki ex-wife kabhi nahi hoti." Sumona casually walks up to Kapil and stands next to him while he relaxes a bit.
"Divorce ki koi wajah nahi hoti."
"Toh bas aise hi hojati, mann kiya toh?" Kapil tries to crack a joke but audience is too busy taking in Sumona's response for which, Kapil in intrigued as well.
"Matlab?"
"Baat simple hai.. humare beech kabhi divorce nahi hota, kabhi woh mauqa hi nahi hai toh divorce ki wajah kahan se ati. Simple is that."
And the crowd goes wild! This is the loudest cheering and applause they have had in this new show. Cast & Crew finally manages to breathe and Sumona winks at Kapil before going backstage. He whispers 'thank you' to her and carries on.
