The Kazekage rubbed his face in a hard manner, the voices of the Council etched themselves onto his brain. He looked down to his desk and smacked the pile of papers down to the floor. White flowed down to the floor as papers scattered about.

"Ah fuck." He hit his head against the wood desk.

Gaara looked at the files by his desk, he tried getting rid of them, but the Council wasn't letting up as they visited him almost every hour, every day to make sure he was looking through them. He was supposed to be the 'Kazekage' but was getting ordered around by a bunch of old geezers.

They wanted him to get married and have an heir to take over his position once he steps down or dies. He tried rationalizing that his sister's son, Shikadai, would be his successor. The Council argued, saying it was outraged that a citizen of Konohagakure would take over the position as Kazekage.

Before he knew it, files of candidates that were willing to be his wife. Who were willing to enter a marriage without love for the rest of their lives? Most of the women in the flies came from smaller villages far from Sunagakure.

Gaara knew that most were plotting to use the title of Lady of Suna to their advantage. Some using it for the greater good and others using it for selfish reasons. Most women always had motives for everything they did.

He looked out the window of his office, admiring the glow of the moon as it hung in the sky. Small stars spread across the midnight blue sky. It was extremely silent, a few houses still had their lights on while the majority were sound asleep.

He turned his head to the door as he heard footsteps approaching. The mahogany door opened to reveal his older brother. His face bare of his purple war paint dressed in his pajamas, his brown hair sticking out in every direction.

"You have a party in here?" Kankuro raised his eyebrow.

He leaned against the door, his arms crossed across his chest as he stared down his little brother. Gaara grunted and walked over to the front of his desk and bent down to pick up the loose papers on the floor.

Kankuro walked over to him and helped with the pile of papers. Kankuro looked up to Gaara, Gaara's face contorted in a nasty glare. If Gaara had laser's as a weapon, the paper would have been nothing but a pile of ash.

"Why don't you go clear your head? I'll pick this up." Kankuro suggested.

Gaara looked to the door and back to his brother. Kankuro nodded as he went back to picking up the pieces of paper. He walked up the door in an elegant manner, he looked back to his brother and an almost non-existing smile painted itself on his face.

"Thank you, Kankuro."

"Yeah, yeah. Just go before I change my mind and sleep in here." Kankuro waved him off, a smile playing at his lips.

...

Gaara wandered around the only natural grass in Sunagakure, tall trees surrounded the area. He always wondered how plant life grew in the desert he called his home. He shook it off as it just happening.

The green area he stood in was shaped in hexagonal, trees lining around the area. Bushes and flowers flitted the area, twigs broke under his weight as walked in around. Two fallen logs by a small lake he just noticed were the center of the area.

He sat on one of the fallen logs and closed his eyes. His steady breathing was heard a mile away as the calm aura of the area washed over him like water in a shower. He removed his blood red trenchcoat to reveal a black shirt underneath.

Twigs snapping brought him out of his relaxed state, he looked to the source and saw bushes rattling and a body stepped out of the shadows of the trees. A young woman, with her eye closed, walked into the area, her arms above her head, stretching.

She yawned and opened her eyes, they quickly landed on Gaara and she froze. He stood up as her eyes widen and she stepped back a few times. Gaara studied the woman as her mouth opened slightly in shock.

She had raven black hair that framed her face and flowed down her shoulders. Her dark brown eyes wide with shock, her pink lips opened in an 'o' shaped. Her nose seemed a little crooked, but he overlooked that and considered her beautiful.

He felt his heart beat thump a little louder.

His gaze went down her body to see her wearing a black shirt just like his own, her breast fairly large, almost looking too large. His eyes went further down to see the curve of her waist and the thickness in her thighs and hips. Her legs being incarnated in shorts.

His heart beat quickened.

She was short, looking to be the height of most 12-year-olds.

She was barefooted.

"I'm sorry for intruding. I'll take my leave." His heart thumped at the sound of her voice.

She turned to leave, but Gaara's quick outburst stopped her.

"N-oo! Wait!" He called out to her, his hand outstretched as if to grab her.

She turned to face him, his face quickly took the shade of his forgotten trench coat as he looked down and then back to her. Her cheeks were tinted in a light blush as she looked him up and down. Her lips quirked up into a smile.

He felt his breath leave his body.

"If you say so." She walked over to him and on the fallen long next to him.

Gaara quickly took his seat, and for the next 15 minutes, they sat in silence. The only thing to be heard was birds chirping lightly and the sound of their hearts beating loudly in each of their chests. Gaara meet her gaze as she continued to wear a smile on her face.

"My names Satomi." The raven haired girl smiled and outstretched her hand to him.

"Gaara." Gaara shook her hand, managing to keep his voice calm and sounding as sophisticated as it was when he talking to the others Kages.

"Nice to meet the face of Sunagakure." She chuckled.

A light smile tugged at his lips as they continued to talk about themselves. He learned of her favorite color, her favorite thing to do, her birthday. He felt as if he knew more about her than anyone else in her life.

She looked at him, love struck. Admiring his handsome features, his crimson hair parted to the side, his green eyes lighten up when he talking about his siblings and friends. Satomi felt her heart quicken when Gaara looked into her eyes, it felt as if he was looking into the depths of her soul.

'Is this what it feels like to be in love with someone?' They both asked themselves.

Gaara looked up to see the moon low in the sky and sighed as he got up.

"I must take my leave for now." She sadly looked up and stood up.

"Meet me here tomorrow, by the time the moon is high in the sky." Gaara told her as her face brighten.

She nodded her head and went to her tippy toes as she bent Gaara down a bit and placed a loving kiss on his cheek. Gaara's face turned red and looked to her cheek, Satomi nodded and Gaara lowered his face and kissed her cheek as well.

"I'll be waiting for you here, Gaara." He loved the way she said his name.

Gaara picked up his trench coat and draped it around her before smelling the nape of her neck. It may have sounded and felt weird, but it calmed Gaara down as he felt the annoyance of having to deal with the Council once he got back.

"I shall see you tomorrow." He pressed his forehead against hers and took his leave.

His heart ached with every step he took away from her.
