BAMF First Years Chapter 2
The day after arriving at Hogwarts, was the most exciting day of all. James and Chrys met up outside the Gryffindor common room every morning to go and get breakfast. "It's so exciting isn't it? I can't wait for my first lesson!" Chrys screamed, with James smiling. "I know, the lessons I'm looking forward to the most are Defence against the dark arts, and potions." James said, and chrys nodded. When they got to the great hall they met up with their houses, and their friends. "Hey, James! Can I talk to you for a second?" A voice called out. James turned to reveal the voice was, in fact, Kyle Simmons. "Sure..." James replied, walking to a corner with Kyle. "Listen, about when I was being horrible yesterday, I'm sorry. I was just nervous." Kyle said, giving a hopeful smile."OK, I understand. Friends?" James said, holding out his hand for Kyle to shake. "Friends." Kyle beamed, and took a firm grip on James's hand and shook it, smiling.
James's first class was potions, and he couldn't wait. He walked all the way to the potions room, and took a seat at a rather small table. He was surrounded by his cousins, Louis Weasley, Rose Weasley, and Lucy Weasley. "Hey guys." James said. "Hey James!" They all said at the same time. Then Prof. Slughorn walked in. "Hello class. This is your first class ever, of Hogwarts School. And today we will be making, pepper up potion. This cures the common cold." He said. He handed out the ingredients, bicorn horn and mandrake root, and James began to create the potion. After about half an hour, James was the first to finish his potion, holding it up and smiling, he handed it to Prof. Slughorn. "And now, we have a sick boy, whom we can test young James's potion on." Slughorn said, making the boy drink the contents of the tiny vile. The boy cured instantly and was smiling with delight. "Well done boy! You have made a perfect pepper up potion!" Slughorn said, patting him on the back.
When class was finished, James ran out to the paved courtyard, and sat on a bench, waiting for Chrys and whoever else wanted to come. Then, out of the big doors, came Chrys, with other people like Kyle Simmons, and Penelope Clearwater, and a girl he didn't recognize. They walked over and Chrys was smiling. "How did your first class go James?" She asked. He looked up at her, gave a grin, and said "Great! Slughorn said I made the perfect pepper up potion!" Chrys looked at him confused and said. "Pepper up p- I'm not even going to ask. This is Kastille Webber. But call her Cass." Cass gave a smile and said, "Nice to meet you James. Chrys has told me all about you." James smiled back and shook her hand, "Nice to meet you too he said." And after that day, James, Chrys, Penelope, Kyle and Cass, were all great friends.
