Mei's POV
Hugh and I stood back to back as we both battled the Team Plasma Grunts. We weren't going to let any of our pokemon get taken by them and nothing was going to stop Hugh from getting his sister's purlin back from Team Plasma.
Having Hugh here fighting with me made me feel confident, brave, safe and protected. After we won the battle with the grunts I questioned myself "Am I falling for him".
"Thanks for helping me battle the grunts you helped me a lot" Hugh said with a smirk.
"No problem" I said blushing a little.
"My Pokémon are weak we should probably go to the Pokémon center in Nimbasa city it's the closeted one" He said
I agreed with him and we started to walk to Nimbasa city together. The sun was already starting to set and the sky was filled with orange, pink and blue. It was simply a beautiful sight indeed.
During the walk I walked behind Hugh. Hardly paying any attention to anything else I questioned myself again "Am I falling for him". I thought about how I felt about him and all the things we've been through together I made up my mind and I thought of him and realized that he mean't more to me than just a friend.
/Boom/
I tripped on a rock because I wasn't paying attention and ended up getting a big bruise on my leg. Hugh turned around and went by my side.
"Mei are you okay? You have to pay attention when you're walking" He said with a serious tone.
"Ow my leg hurts" I I replied with pain.
"When we get to the pokemon center let's put some ice on it" he said giving me a hand to help me up.
"I'm sure you'll be fine".
When I took his hand and tried to get up my leg hurt even worse than before
"It hurts to walk" I said trying to act as if it was nothing.
"If it hurts then ill carry you to the pokemon center" he said looking at me with caring eyes.
"Ok" I said with a shyly as I climbed onto his back and piggy backed.
I hung onto Hugh's back. His back was very warm and he smelled nice I wanted to stay like this forever.
When we arrived at the pokemon center Hugh and I healed our pokemon and nurse joy gave me a bag of ice for my leg.
"I'm feeling better already" I said with excitement in my voice
"Good I got a little worried for you back there" he said with a serious tone again "Don't scare me like that I don't want you to get hurt".
"I'll be fine and by the way thanks for carrying me back" I said shyly with a blush.
I then gave Hugh a kiss on the cheek and his face went red.
