It was Friday afternoon, and Tori and Jade went running into Lane's office.
"This is the final straw!" Tori screamed. "I can't believe you sat on my sandwich!"
"I've done worse, Vega," Jade replied coolly.
"Girls!" Lane interrupted. "What are you doing here?"
"Jade sat on my sandwich," Tori said.
"OK," Lane said, the tone in his voice hinting that he wanted a longer story.
"…After she threatened me with a butter knife for supposedly 'stealing' her part in the musical."
"You did steal it!" Jade screeched. "I was definetly going to get that part, but you used my routine in the audition, making it look like I copied you."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa." Lane sat down in the wicker egg chair. Then he gestured for Tori and Jade to sit on the couch. "It looks like you two need couples counseling."
"But we're not a couple!" Tori got up from the couch and proceeded to walk toward the door.
"For once, I agree with Tori." Jade walked to the door, too.
"I wasn't in any way suggesting you were an item. 'Couple's counseling' is simply the name for counseling with two people." Lane went over to Tori and Jade and led them back to the chair. "Now, tell me exactly what happened."
"I was staying after school in the Black Box," Jade began, "rehearsing my routine to audition for the play. I was going to sing the song "Okay", then preform a monologue I wrote myself about a murderous dog.
"As I was practicing, Tori came barging into the theater, demanding to ask why her bike had been moved."
"She had parked her car where my bike had been! She moved my bike all the way across the street." Tori went over to Lane and whispered in his ear, "All the way across the street."
"Big deal," Jade continued. "I told her that, and started practicing again."
"Did Tori leave?" Lane asked.
"NO!" Jade yelled. "She just stood there and heard my entire routine. Then, later, she used it to take my part!"
"I wasn't watching with the intent to take Jade's part!"
"Then why were you watching?" Lane asked Tori.
"Yea, why were you watching?" Jade leaned over and looked Tori right in the eye.
"I… I wanted to see Jade," Tori whispered, barely audible.
"What did you say, Vega?" Jade said.
"I wanted to see Jade sing," Tori said, much louder.
"Really?" Jade asked in a slightly mocking tone. Then she got up and opened the door to Lane's room. "Thanks, Lane, but I think that is good for today. Come, Vega."
Tori and Jade left Lane's room and Jade grabbed Tori's hand and dragged her into the janitor's closet.
"Why'd you want to see me sing?"
"Well…"
"Why'd you want to see me sing?!" Jade demanded.
"Because you look really pretty when you sing." Tori tucked a loose hair behind her hair.
"You think so?"
"Yea."
"Then, Vega," Jade stepped toward Tori, "I have a surprise for you." Jade then leaned forward and kissed Tori on the lips. "Did you like that?" She asked after she pulled away.
Tori nodded.
"Good." Jade headed for the door. "Then we have the entire weekend to build on it."
With that, Jade winked and left the closest, leaving Tori to sit in there and anticipate Saturday.
Author's Note: I based this story off Beck's Big Break when Rex and Robbie had couple's counseling. I figured that this would be cute. Hope you liked! :D Also, be nice. It's my first story that's just a scene.
