Inuyasha's greatest mistake and loss
Chapter one: Sesshomaru's appearance
He was running as fast as he could. He had to get to camp before Kagome woke up and found that he was gone. He could already see the sadness in her eyes from knowing that he broke his promise to her again. Then he caught it the scent of Sesshomaru. What made his the more angry was that Sesshomaru was close to Kagome. Kagome was his and he would not let Sesshomaru get too close to her. Meanwhile Kagome sat awake and sad. Inuyasha wasn't there and she knew that he had gone to see Kikio. Finally she gave in to all the sadness that she felt. After she felt like she couldn't cry any more she left camp and walked into the nearby forest. She sat down by a tree and tried to think of the good times that she and Inuyasha have once had. She knew that she could never take Kikio's place in Inuyasha's heart and she would never ask him to stop loving Kikio. Yet she hurt so much. All of the pain from seeing them together just hurt her so much. She then felt a strong familiar aura. She looked up to find a tall, slender body standing over her. She tried to call for Inuyasha but no words came out of her mouth. She was alone and afraid before the handsome taiyoukia. "Where is my idiot half-brother." Kagome finally got her voice back. "I don't know. He went after Kikio and I haven't seen him since. What do you want from him anyways, Sesshomaru?" she spat back at him. He gave her a deadly glare and simply said "That is none of your concern, miko." Then a rustling could be hear as Inuyasha boldly shouted "What do want here Sesshomaru?! I said she's not going with you so back off she's mine." Inuyasha was furious. He knew that Sesshomaru had planned to take Kagome away from him for a while now and he was pretty sure as to why. Sesshomaru was now at the age where he needed to have a mate. But he wasn't sure why he would want Kagome. She was pretty but she was ningen and he hated ningen. "Thus Sesshomaru is not here to take your onna yet, little brother. I have come to make sure you were protecting her and not off somewhere with that dead wench you love so much. So can go back and continue to ravish the dead miko's body." Kagome looked around in confusion. 'Did he just say that he came to check on me? Me of all people?' she was so confused. "Yes this Sesshomaru said I came to see if you were safe. Do you really find yourself that undesirable?" Sesshomaru could easily read her thoughts for they were very loud. "Surely you couldn't possibly let this hanyou lower yourself esteems." Kagome turned away trying not to let him see her cry. He was right and she knew it even though she would never admit it. 'Hm. So my idiot half-brother has hurt her more than he has realized.' Inuyasha couldn't take another minute of Sesshomaru being around Kagome. She was his and she said that she would stay with him. She made a promise and she was gonna keep it. even if he had to . "Get away from her Sesshomaru!" Sesshomaru looked up and scowled at his brother. "I will let you keep her but only for a short time and then I'll claim her as mine." He turned and got one last glance of Kagome and left. He always got what he wanted. He wanted Kagome and he was gonna get her. If he had to kill his idiot half-brother to do it he would.
