Minerva McGonagall had spent a lot on time on various missions for the order, most of which were extremely uncomfortable. This one, she had to say, was turning out to be the worst. She was stuck, in a tent, with Albus Dumbledore. In the middle of Albania. And it wasn't even a proper wizarding tent! No, it was a muggle tent. So they could 'blend into the surroundings' Seriously, its not like they stood out or anything, camping in a middle of the forest, especially with Albus and his taste in clothing, especially of the Muggle sort.
This forest was empty! The only people who ever went in it were the death eaters, hopefully. And so far, there hadn't been any in sight, no strange killings or anything. She didn't even know what they were supposed to find, she just spent a lot of time in her Animagus form, sneaking around to look for signs of magic.
The whole plan was ridiculous. And what was worse, this tent, it , well, it creaked! Tents weren't supposed to creak, not that Minerva spent much of her time camping but, well, whoever heard of a tent that creaked! She certainly hadn't. She rolled onto her back and listened intently. Creak. There it went again! "Albus?" She whispered. She poked him in the back. "Albus?" He snored loudly. Minerva poked him again, harder. He rolled over and opened one eye.
"Minerva?" he said blearily "wassamatter?"
"The tent" said Minerva bluntly.
Albus groaned, and reached for his glasses. "It's a muggle tent, its not supposed to be bigger on the inside." He pointed out, half asleep.
Minerva rolled her eyes "I know that. Its just, the tent is…"
"Well?"
"Creaking" admitted McGonagall.
Dumbledore looked expectantly at her "And?" he prompted
"Well, tents aren't supposed to creak" she frowned, wondering if Muggle tents creaked. "Are they?"
"No," said Albus patronizingly "tents aren't supposed to creak."
"But it is creaking…"
"Minerva, Its not like it going to be death eaters. Go back to sleep." And with that, the irritating old man rolled over and immediately fell asleep.
The tent creaked.
