I Thought We'd Won

I Thought We'd Won

By: Paige Collins

Authors Note: I am back at poetry. I am putting Northchild back on, cause taking it off won't solve my problem and make the story go away.

Of all the battles we have fought,

I realized that this is the most tough,

Or so I thought,

Battling for the win of the earth isn't all,

There are problems we all face,

Some big, some small,

Things we think about,

But then I realize that this is the most…important,

I was back in battle,

Some wins,

Some loss,

I raise my head,

I look at the enemy,

To see if it is dead,

I indeed it is,

Bu then upon my knowing of this I find out,

This is the last Yeerk,

Without a doubt,

I gaze at the star lit glittery night,

An sigh,

I always thought we'd win the fight,

I hear a sound,

In a blink of an eye,

I whirl around,

There, in all it's evilness,

Is a Yeerk battle ship,

I groan,

For the battle has just begun,

But realizing this,

I thought we'd won.
