Who You Are Disclaimer: I have no idea where this came from, but it only took me ten minutes to write. Major fluff/OOCness ahead. If you can't figure out who it is...you've either never read something I've written, or the hints are too subtle. Oh well.

Digimon doesn't belong to me...its not fair!!!

Who You Are
by: Lady Dragon

Do you know what you are?

I don't think you do. How could you?

The fire that burns in you, I'll bet you think its from the Digimental of Courage, don't you?

It's not. I know it's not, for I know what you truly are, what you've always been...and what you sacrificed for me.

I just don't understand why I'm the only one who can see it. Is the world blind?

They must be. That's the only logical explanation.

If I thought you'd believe me, I'd tell you what you were.

But I know you. You'd laugh, and brush it off. In fact, you'd probably tell everyone else; another big group joke.

Maybe that's not such a bad idea. If they could only see what I see...

You gave me life, did you know that?

Not in the literal sense, of course, but in every other way it matters you did.

Without you, my soul would have died.

You showed me there was more to life than death and destruction.

You believed in me.

After your storm swept through me, everything seemed brighter...

I know I'm not making sense, but I don't need to be. I know how I feel, and who you are.

As I watch you sleep, the moonlight creeps through the blinds and caresses your face.

Your beautiful, did you know that too?

The moonlight, it gives you the halo that is your birthright.

Your eyes open as you murmur that I'm crazy. I hadn't realized I'd been talking out loud.

I'm surprised when you tell me you've been listening for a while, but I shouldn't be. It's yet more proof that you are who I think you are.

I can't bear to face you right now. Your perfection makes me feel even more tarnished, so I walk to the window and wrap my arms around myself. I hear you follow, and I can't help but smile when the moonlight tries to follow you.

All right, I'll tell you. How could I deny you anything when you've given me so much? I open my mouth to tell you, and tremble when you turn me to face you.

You're my guardian, my savior. No, don't laugh. It's the truth. But that's what you've done, not who you are?

You still don't know?

I can't help it. I drop to my knees and look down at the floor. After all, what mortal has the right to look an angel in the eye; even an angel who's fallen to Earth to save one so unworthy.

You're lifting my chin again. Please don't make me look at you...Oh god, I can't stand to look in your eyes right now. There's no words to describe what I see in them.

My angel, my savior, my light, my life...

And as you wrap your arms around me, I swear I feel your wings enfolding me, keeping me safe.
