My Eyes
My world wavers once in a while,
And for the first time I open my eyes.
Through these clear orbs I see
That, all my truths have been lies.
The house I love
Just out of reach
The pain through my leg
As I grit my teeth.
The memories of a happy home
Disappear
While my beautiful world
Falls down like tears.
My dress, now more grey than pink
My simple bun, ruffled from worry
Outside the circle of my husband's care
My thought wing in a flurry.
The image fades with time
And I wish I never opened my eyes.
