Half Moon

Half Moon
Prologue

Destruction.

That was the only word that described what happened in Canalave City. Everything was in total ruins. Corpses of humans and Pokémon lay everywhere. You couldn't go anywhere without stepping in a pool of fresh blood. It was impossible to not notice this happening. The only thing alive in the city was a small eevee, struggling to survive. The little creature's back legs were gone. Its tail was ripped out. Its head was cracked open, blood gushing out like a faucet. The eevee stopped moving and collapsed on the ground, dead.

A curious little yellow mouse walked inside the city, with a little white squirrel right behind it. The squirrel gasped at such a sight. So scared that it collapsed. The mouse stared to shake the squirrel to try to wake it up. No luck. Sighing, it sat down near the squirrel, waiting for it to wake up. The yellow rodent looked around the area. It wondered why this had happened. The mouse saw the corpses, the blood, the destroyed buildings, and pretty much anything else you can think of in a destroyed city. He then realized something: he had a shadow. A shadow that didn't look anything like the mouse.

The shadow materialized out of the ground, flying around the squirrel and the mouse at mach speed. The mouse collapsed due to the overwhelming speed and blurs. Suddenly, there was a black ring surrounding the couple. The shadow flew out of the ring just before it crushed the creatures. They were cut in half. Blood was being squirted everywhere. About a minute later, it stopped, and two more corpses were added to the bunch.

Just then, a majestic swan-like creature flew over the city. Its main color was blue with a yellow stomach. Two pink wings that resembled half-rings were on its sides, with a larger, brighter one in the shape of an arc on its back. It had a tail about half the length of its body. It had a head with a point at the end of the nose, with a crescent moon-shaped object on both sides of its head. The swan looked around, horrified at the damage. "This is all my fault…" it said to itself silently. The swan started to fly up near the moon. "This is all my fault!"

At that moment, the majestic bird flew towards the ground at a blinding speed. It went so fast that it left a crater in the ground. The swan started to bang its head on the bloody pavement, not caring that its beautiful, silky down was stained red. It continued to bang its head so hard that blood started coming out of its head. "Why? Why? Why!? WHY!?" the swan yelled in between bangs. After a while, it stopped and flew up to the moon. The blue swan gazed at the moon, sobbing uncontrollably. "If only I was here a few moments earlier…….I could've prevented this!" said the creature, slowly moving towards the city. Just when it thought everything was okay…

BAM!

The swan was sent flying down to the ground at a speed greater than when it flew down itself. Squirming, the creature tried to get up and see its attacker. The only thing it saw after that was a marking on its side. It was shaped like an "X" with a small circle at the end of each point. The creature sniffed and said some words so quietly that were incredibly quiet. So quiet that even it couldn't hear itself talking. Looking at the moon, the swan said, "D……I….ge……..i" and fainted. There was a great flash of light. The only thing standing in its place was a little girl.
