Foreword: AkuRoku story, yay! It's kind of rough, I apologize, but here it is. Enjoy!

Saturday night, it rained. Axel found himself sitting lengthwise on the couch, holding Roxas.
It was one of those nights that Axel was even more thankful for Roxas' company. Sometimes, on these cold, rainy evenings, the redhead's thoughts were besieged by memories of dreams, though he almost believed they were true memories.
They seemed to concern the blond he held, he couldn't distinctly remember, but they were always dark and filled with pain. They confused him; he always felt so anguished by them, but why?
He found himself looking up at blue eyes, golden hair damp and familiar. He lay on his back on a cold, wet surface, and raindrops were on his skin. He felt cold and…hollow. It seemed he was feeling some sort of emotion, of pain, but it was unearthly and vague, a shadow of something real.
Roxas' blue eyes were filled with tears, and drops of water rolled over his skin. No…he whispered, one of his hands on Axel's shoulder no…
Axel felt his lips move slowly, forming quiet, weak, familiar words. He forced a small smile. Roxas seemed to choke out a laugh, almost smiling back.
The redhead knew he was lying, lying to both of them. It seemed Roxas knew it too. At least Axel would die with some sense of happiness, he had made his friend smile one last time, different, but more beautiful than he could remember.
Just… hold on, okay? the blond's lips formed the begging words, and it took Axel a few moments to hear and respond to them.
Silly Roxas, don't you know this is my end? he tried to keep the trace of a smile on his face, attempted to tease. He saw the beautiful face fall in anguish, blue eyes begging for an alternative You... can't
I'll see you in the next life. he repeated the lie, painfully moving his arm, his hand, to touch Roxas' face one last time. How he'd miss him. Would Roxas miss him in return?
Once more, that beautiful, tortured, half smile Don't go…
Axel kept his hand in place, just for a few more moments I'll miss you.
Roxas felt as if part of him, an important, special part, had just been destroyed. He felt as if he had lost the person he held most dear.
The blond clutched Axel's shoulder, begging, pleading with him to hold on. He couldn't lose him.
He stared into the fading green eyes, rain falling on them both, mixing with his tears.
He didn't want Axel to go, he didn't want to be left alone. Roxas begged him to hold on, to not leave him, and the redhead responded with a promise.
Roxas almost smiled, the words positively breaking his heart. He could tell, looking into those familiar green eyes, that Axel was lying.
He didn't want it to be a lie, he didn't want this to be the truth. He wanted Axel to wait, to just hold on a little longer, to not give up. But his friend had already surrendered.
Softly, Axel's hand made contact with Roxas' cheek, and the blond placed his own hand over it. For the last time…
So this is where it would end, in the rain, no one but him to care about the lost Nobody. This is where Roxas' heart died with Axel.
