CHAPTER-1
Demon Dean had mostly been in control these days or so it was believed. The search for the secret to the Mark of Kane was on and not too successful for the moment. Castiel was off for some 'angel duties' (that's what he called it) and Sam and Dean were working a case in Windom, Minnesota.
That place had memories for the Winchester brothers. All they could think about was Adam. Adam, their brother trapped in with Michael and Lucifer. This was where they first met him when they were hunting the ghouls.
"Adam wasn't supposed to be a part of this mess" Sam said.
"He is a Winchester and there ain't no Winchesters that have been spared yet." Dean shot back at his brother.
Sam sighed sadly thinking about the fate of their brother.
This time in Minnesota, the Winchesters were hunting a Vampire nest. Although vampires don't have anything to do with ghouls, Sam couldn't stop thinking about the time he and Dean had met Adam for the first time and how it all led to him being dragged into this fiasco. Meanwhile, Dean was going through a phase of regret. He remembered the time when he had a choice to save either Sam or Adam and he just chose Sam. It hit him so bad that he didn't try hard enough to convince Death and get Adam back too. More than that, it hurt him (and Sam too) that with all this fighting going on, they completely forgot about Adam.
It was a nightmarish night in a dingy hotel room in Windom, Minnesota. Sam had a nightmare about hell and he heard Adam screaming and begging to save him. He woke up in sweat in the middle of the night, with Dean standing by his side.
"Having a scary time, Sammy?", he asked in his most gentle voice.
"It's Adam. He wants our help."
"We can't do anything without figuring out how to get about it"
"He screamed my name, Dean. When I was being saved and he wasn't, I heard those cries. And tonight, it just came back. This has got to mean something!"
"Don't worry, Sammy. We'll figure it out after we're done choppin' off some vampire heads tomorrow. Get some sleep now."
It was hard to focus on killing vampires when you're thinking about your brother locked up with God's bratty children. But, the Winchesters were known for their professionalism and they got the job done.
Sam and Dean went to a pizza place to eat after killing off the nasty vampire nest. As Dean picked up the first slice of pizza and brought it near his mouth to eat, he just stopped. He said,
"Sam. Look. A white 1959 Cadilac."
"Yeah. So?"
"I really hope the license plate doesn't say 'Buh*Bye'"
Before Sam could say anything, they saw an old man in a business suit walking towards them. Death was here. But why? It could not be good.
"Dean. Sam. You boys seem alright."
"Should we be dead, Death." Dean laughed.
"Not yet, boys. Not yet. The pizza here is quite average. Should I blow the city up?" Death spoke, coolly.
"What? Are you crazy?" Sam said.
"Death thinks he's funny, Sammy. Death loves pizza from Chicago, that's why he didn't kill people there."
"Enough fooling around, Dean. I've got a job for you. Both of you."
