The fictional movie's plot is inspired by someone's theory on the Nightmare Fuel page for Pokemon on TVTropes.

"Are you sure you want to watch this one, Zoey?" Dawn asked as her friend pulled the DVD out of its case. "I know everyone watches scary movies at sleepovers, but..."

"Don't worry." Zoey slid the disc into the DVD player and gathered up the pillows from their pillow fight, propping them up against the wall and grabbing an extra-large blanket from the bed. "It's not that scary."

"I dunno, Ash said he saw it with Gary and they couldn't sleep for days afterwards," Dawn said, twisting one of the buttons on her pajama top. "If something can scare Gary Oak, I don't have such a good feeling about it."

"Well, if it's too scary for you, I'll hold your hand." Zoey winked.

"Would you really?" Dawn asked, and Zoey blushed, as if she hadn't expected Dawn to take the offer seriously.

"Sure, what are friends for?"

They sat on the floor, leaning back against the pillows and pulling the blanket up over their knees. Zoey set the bowl of popcorn between them, hit play on the remote and dimmed the lights.

The movie started off as fairly tame, opening with a flashback. It told the touching story of a trainer and his Snorunt over a hundred years ago, then faded into the present where a brother and sister were investigating the mysterious disappearance of several trainers.

"So far, so good," Dawn mumbled as she leaned closer to Zoey. But the story quickly turned darker, fading into another flashback...the Snorunt from earlier, exposed to a glowing stone that...oh, no! Dawn shivered, reaching for Zoey's hand.

"That's why the old man's always so cranky and hates winter, I guess," Zoey whispered. They watched the siblings argue with the old man, followed by another flashback and then the siblings sneaking into the mansion. And then finally, the movie's monster appeared in a whirl of icy winds and shadow; both girls shrieked and grabbed for each other in terror.

"Guess it was scarier than I thought it'd be," Zoey laughed, then suddenly gave Dawn a confused look. "Um, Dawn...? Why are...I mean, your hand, it's-"

Dawn looked down and realized that in their grab for each other, her hand had landed on Zoey's chest. Blushing hotly, she gave a small yelp and pulled away, careful not to disturb the bowl of popcorn.

"S-sorry!" she stammered. "I mean, that Frosslass, she-"

"She scared me too," Zoey admitted, reaching over to pat Dawn's shoulder. "Wait...Dawn, look at that!" She pointed to Frosslass. "It's a zipper, you can see the zipper on the back of the costume!"

"...oh my God, you're right!" Dawn giggled. "We were freaked out by that?" They burst out laughing, and this time Dawn did knock over the popcorn which made them laugh even more, so much that Zoey had to pause the movie.

When they finally calmed down and picked up the popcorn, Zoey resumed the DVD. This time, she didn't let go of Dawn's hand until the end credits began to roll.
