"I can't believe you! That is a decision you'll live with for the rest of your life."

"I don't care."

"Well not right now, obviously! But in ten or twenty years, you'll regret it!"

"I'll deal with it in ten or twenty years then, I guess."

"Can you ever be serious?"

"I am-"

"Don't you dare, Padfoot! That got old way to long ago."

Sirius Black looked at his friend seriously. His smile from just a moment ago had vanished, and he looked his friend dead in the eye. His new tattoo of Snoopy that was fresh on his right shoulder was still glistening with the ointment that had been applied by the artist not an hour before.

"Not all lifelong decisions have to be serious, Moony." he said. Remus opened his mouth to argue his point, but gave up as soon as he saw James walk in, a tattoo of Woodstock glistening on his right shoulder.

"Not you, too!" Remus groaned. James and Sirius grinned.

"Yep. It's official; best friends for life. We're now stuck with each other," James laughed and the pair high-fived.

"You guys are crazy." Moony finally settled on saying, shaking his head. But he had to admit, the tattoos were fitting. Smiling slightly, the seventeen year old lay down on his bed and began reading a book.

Eighteen years later, Remus Lupin walked into a muggle tattoo shop. He had been drinking away the pain he felt. Sirius was dead; felled by his own cousin not even twenty-four hours ago. He was alone. The last marauder.

"What can I do for you?" The people in the shop stared at him suspiciously. He didn't look like the type to be getting a tattoo.

"I'd like a small tattoo of Charlie Brown." he stated. The artist looked at him skeptically.

"Where at?" he asked. Remus thought back through all of his memories, trying to remember where James and Sirius had gotten theirs.

"My right shoulder," he smiled softly.

"You know this is permanent right? A lifelong decision? Not that I'm trying to discourage business of course, but just so you know." Remus smiled again, and this time, tears were shining in his eyes.

"I know. But not all lifelong decisions have to be serious."

END.

Okay this was just a little fluff. My best friend and I recently got matching ninja turtle tattoos (Mine's Raphael, hers is Donatello) and this was the explanation we gave to our parents. I figured it would be cute to switch around, and I always could imagine James and Sirius doing something like this..
