AN: I love V For Vendetta and texts are in italics.

He's a little concerned when she texts him a few days early about movie night. They're just friends, they both privately tell themselves, as they both look forward to their Friday movie nights. It's her week to host and pick the movie, and he's not expecting to see her until Friday. Usually they saw each other when they could, but she takes work home sometimes and he travels, their schedules do not always line up but they both clear their Friday nights.

Is something wrong? He asks her in a text. He waits for her response, if it's urgent he'll come back from Spain a few days early. She wants to move movie night a day early.

No, nothing's wrong. Have you seen V For Vendetta? She replies.

I can't say that I have. Are we doing Thursday movie nights now? He inquires.

Just be back in time for movie night on the fifth. She tells him and he tells her he'll be back in time.

She made pasta, he can smell it as he walks up the stairs to her apartment. He had just ordered out the last time he was in charge of dinner. They always like to outdo each other. Next time, he'll out do her, but he'll think of that later. She opens the door with a grin, and ushers him inside.

She turns on the movie after they get settled on the couch, their food on the coffee table. He tells her that dinner smells amazing. Elena's a good cook, and after being out of the country for five days made it smell even better. So many meetings, with overrated restaurants over the course of those five days.

He watches intently, seeing her excitement at the beginning.

He doesn't understand until the movie continues. The date is connected to the movie, a very important day in the universe of the protagonists.

It's a beautiful movie and her eyes will flicker to him every so often, to make sure he's watching.

The ending makes a few tears slip out, despite the fact that she's seen the movie several times.

"What did you think?" She asks as the credits roll, her eyes hopeful.

"I liked it." He says, and if it was anyone else she'd think that he didn't. But he's being genuine. She hopes he's up for watching it again next year. She tells him to get the gelato out of the freezer and she'll put the dishes in the dishwasher.

He's glad they moved movie day to Thursday this time.
