Chapter 1- Ending A Life, Ends Your Own
She had done it…she had finally done it. Adachi Mur-Der, age 15, had killed her parents. Why she didn't exactly know. Just that the feeling of the knife gliding across their flesh, and the blood that dripped from her black locks was incredible. Her red eyes shimmered at the sight of her parents lifeless corpses. Their pools of blood at her feet. Why did she do this? To her parents, for that matter. Slowly she began to step away realizing the undeniable truth. Now, she was truly alone. Sure, her parents weren't the richest in their village, but she couldn't find any reasons why she would do this. "Mom…Dad…Wake up!" yelled Adachi, in a almost coarse voice. Standing away from their bodies. How could this have happened?
"I told you, I told you all! She's the devil's daughter!" yelled the man she vaguely knew him. He was an intown merchant, a gaunt little fellow, with fiery red hair that matched the fire in his eyes. That same fire had lit on her, when she had stolen an apple from his selling carriage just to get a taste of her mother's infamous apple pie. A crowd of people were behind him, glaring knives glinted in the light of the early afternoon sun. It was snowing. "Get the she-devil! She got devil's eyes!" That's when they tore her from her parents. Her mother's lazy eye waved slightly in her direction as they took her away. The angered-villagers, were actually right. Her mother had cool aqua colored eyes and her father had steel gray eyes. Where did the red lineage come from?
This road seemed familiar, or maybe it was the crisp flakes of snow falling against the pathway. They threw her limp body against the snow of the Hill. A man walked through the crowd who kindly parted, like how Moses parted the oceans to escape Egypt. Lifting her head, her red orbs met his withered gaze. A gaze, that once-upon-a-time could have held a bit of hope. "Adachi…you are never to return here. You have caused…a great offense. You are forever banned, exiled from our humble village." Said the Elder, his robes draped over his decrepit form. A tinge of sadness drifted in his voice. She expect so, she used to visit the church to help the Elder clean the sacrificial block. Every Sunday, it would be caked with dry blood. Then the villagers stepped up, as the Elder seemed to slink away, giving their punishment. With fists, knives, and the occasional garden hoe.
Soon they dispersed having lost interest in this sinner, and headed back to the village to collect the bodies. Everyone, except the Elder…and the snow. The Elder began to leave her, too. But he stopped hearing small crunches in the snow. "Adachi…I advise you to stay far from this place. You'll only end up killed, I'm only trying to protect you…" mumbled the Elder. He just couldn't face the poor child, not with her own blood hardening against her parents'. Or the fact that she was shivering. "I-is….this what you call…p-protecting me-" she stuttered, having wretched up blood from her stomach. He couldn't respond, as the soft snowfall became a hard furry. Pelleting her with snow, as if it was punishing her, too. He then continued to return his pace, walking away from the convict.
Teeth chattering, her hands clamped on the elbows. She crawled on into the opposite direction of her 'Home'. Not knowing, nor caring, what her destination was. Debates in her head, relying on if she should continue or just try to join her parents in Death.
