I stepped into the warm office and shrugged off my coat. Angela, my receptionist smiled warmly at me.

"Good morning Miss Swan," she greeted me, before turning towards the green flashing button on the phone, and answering the call. "Forks Elementary, This is Angela. How may I help you this morning."

I smiled at her, and hung my coat on the rack. I walked down the hall to my mail-box and pick up the weekly newsletters to pass out to my class, and any mail from parents. I could still hear Angela's mmhms and yes, I see. I came back to the desk to see her just hanging up.

"Do I have any messages?" I asked. Angela pushed a piece of paper in front of me.

"One fax. About a new kid to your class. His name is…" she picked up the piece of paper. "Uh.. Anthony Cullen." I took the fax and read it over.

"Thank you Ang, what would I do without you," I smiled. She laughed.

"See you later!" I called, as I exited the office.

I unlocked my door and let the kids run into the classroom, rather than stand out into the cold. They hung their backpacks on their hooks, and sat on the "magic carpet" as I like to call it. I grabbed my clipboard and began taking roll.

"Megan Allen,"

"Here."

"Charles Bridgman"

"Here"

"Sarah Carter"

"Here"

"Um… Anthony Cullen,"

"Present," replied a beautiful, deep voice. I looked up to see the a little boy standing in front of a Greek god, in the doorway, with bronze hair and ab muscles I had never even heard of. I composed myself and walked out of the class.

"Hello, my name is Edward Cullen." He introduced himself, and extended his left hand. I noticed no ring.

"Nice to meet you Mr. Cullen, my name is Miss Swan." I shook his hand, almost refusing to let go. I knelt down. "and you, must be Anthony." Anthony smiled, and extended his left hand as well, I shook it and tapped his nose. I stood up and smiled at them both.

"Welcome to Forks Elementary, Mr. Cullen,"

"Please," he responded softly. "Call me Edward," he grinned and tapped Anthony on the back and pointed towards the toys, Anthony dropped his bag and ran inside. Edward's eyes met mine, and I had to remember to breathe.

"You can call me Bella," I replied.

"Lovely name, your husband must be one lucky guy," he answered quietly.

"Oh, no husband, no boy friend either," I laughed, noticing his face light up.

"Oh well then, I know it's sudden but may I buy you lunch one day?" he asked, I felt so happy. I had to refrain from screaming yes, in his face. I smiled coolly.

"I get off at one," I replied. "you can pick me and Anthony up then,"

He smiled.

"Good, I'll see you then." he nodded, smiled and left.

I scurried into the classroom. To find the children playing with the tinker toys. All but Anthony who sat in the corner with a toy train. By himself. I sat down next to him.

"Anthony, are you okay?" I asked quietly, rubbing his back.

He smiled and nodded. He looked just like his dad when he did that.

"Well, then why are you back here alone?"

"I like being alone," his small voice replied. I laughed quietly.

"Why do you like being alone?" I whispered. He shrugged.

"Too noisy!" He made a face, and then we both laughed.

I looked at the clock, Eleven-thirty. Only an hour an a half.
