Heyyo! Long time no see, my dears. I've been working on quite a few pieces recently, but thus far, I have not posted any of them. However, I was struck with a tidbit of inspiration this morning, and so spawned this lovely drabble! Enjoy~
"Bracketstone... do you remember your first leaf-bare?"
The tom looked down at his charge. Sunpaw snuggled deeper into his thick fur, and Bracketstone instinctively curled his tail around him.
"Why do you ask, Sunpaw?" he murmured.
"I want to know," the young feline persisted, peering up at Bracketstone with wide eyes.
Bracketstone shut his eyes and inwardly cringed at the images that flickered behind them, the horrors that lived only in his mind.
"It was warm. Everyone helped the clan stay alive," he purred finally. Sunpaw nodded in acceptance, finally closing his eyes.
Outside, snowflakes fluttered into the obsidian velvet.
