Is the traitor Maeglin's domain.
House of the Swallow,
Houses your finest archers.
House of the Heavenly Arch,
Wealthy as heaven's coffers.
House of the Pillar and House of the Tower of Snow,
Two houses of a great writer.
House of the Tree,
Wielded clubs and slings in the same matter.
House of the Golden Flower,
Led by the beloved Glorfindel.
House of the Fountain,
Guardians of fountains and lovers of silver and jewel.
House of the Harp,
Their leader cowardly.
House of the Hammer of Wrath,
Fought battle valiantly.
House of the King,
The house of your wise ruler.
Oh Gondolin! Fair Gondolin! You have endured longer than others Yet you had fallen.
All to the traitor Maeglin's hands The blood of Gondolin shall be on him forever.
