Nico di Angelo trudged through the underworld. He often visited the underworld when he got bored of camp half blood and left. He hardly ever stuck around camp long. He just didn't fit in with the other demigods. He never would. But today was not one of his unpredictable runaways. He had a purpose for coming to the underworld and he wasn't leaving until he got exactly what he wanted.
Nico waded through the field of Asphodel. He walked through the yellow fields, heading to the palace of Hade's. The place looked depressing, so it fit his mood perfectly. Black poplar trees stood out in the yellow fields. Shades drifted around aimlessly, chattering loudly. Nico could imagine her as a shade. Chattering like the rest of them trying to remember life before death. She would have forgotten him. She would have forgotten all the time they spent together at camp half blood. She would have just wandered the fields for all eternity. Eyes hallow, a high pitch bat voice. He shivered at the thought
Nico pulled out his stygian iron sword. The cool metal steamed in the hot underworld air. The spirits cleared a path for his as he walked with the sword positioned in front of him. The cries of tortured souls could be heard in the distance. As Nico listened to them he imagined her getting eternal punishment. He imagined hearing her screams of pain mixed with the rest of them. The more he thought about it the more he felt like crying. He quickly shook the thought of her getting punishment from his mind.
He knew she had gotten Elysium. She had died a hero's death. She had died to save him. But he would have gladly taken her place. She didn't deserve to die. It was his fault. He should have died not her. The words echoed in his mind.
I should have died not her, he thought sadly, shaking his head back and forth.
Suddenly tears started to fall from his eyes. They dropped onto his pale cheeks. He quickly wiped them away with the sleeve of his aviator's jacket, but more quickly took their place. He felt pain. A horrible pain that he could not cure. Every day he felt a horrible pain by knowing that he would not she her. But maybe he could set things right. He would find a way to bring her back. That was his reason for heading to the palace of Hade's. To see if there was any way he could bring her back.
Nico hoped history would not repeat its self. He was determined to stop it from repeating. This time he would succeed. Unlike when he tried to bring his sister, Bianca, back.
But deep in his heart he knew it was a lost cause. There was no way to bring her back. Not with out trading his soul for hers. He would try to find a different way to bring her back. You never know what could happen.
Nico remembered how it all started. This mess. He remembered the day a few months ago when he meet Destiny the daughter of Aphrodite. The day he fell in love with her.
A/N: I hope you enjoyed this. Please review and tell me if I should continue! :)
