Tord's POV
I ran into the forest, my heart was pounding like crazy, my footsteps slammed against the forest floor and crushed leaves as my lungs heaved. I heard barking close behind me. They're after me. The wolves. The demons.
One of the wolves tried snapping their jaws at my foot. I tried my best to not get hit by raising my foot higher. But it caused me to stumble a bit. Due to panic, I fell. I tried flapping my wings quickly to stop myself.
Yet the stone cold ground made impact with my body. The barking came closer. "I-I'm.. not giving up yet..." I sat up and quickly looked around for a hiding spot, and found a strange cave. I decided to go for it. There weren't many options, and I had little time to choose.
I swiftly dove into the cave and hid behind a boulder. I peeked out, and saw those savage wolves skid to a stop. Their ears flattened, and the wolves whined in fear.
The wolves quickly retreated into the forest. I started to calm down, and caught my breath. I felt my heart begin to slow down. I was feeling dizzy, and faint. I sat there for a while, until I regained myself.
I knew they would still be out there. So it'd be a while until I could go out again. I decided to go and explore the cave. It wasn't as dark as it looked on the outside. "Hello? Is anybody in here?" I called out.
My echo bounced off the walls. It sounded like lost souls whispering into my ear. Trying to escape. "Hello?" I said louder. I heard a rumble and looked up so see an icicle made of stone drop down from the cave's ceiling.
I gasped and quickly dove out of the way. Thank goodness I did. I would have been crushed. But it wasn't over. more of the rocky, cold stones began to fall.
"Oh no.." I muttered. I tried my best to avoid them. One of them caught my wing. Pain filled the right side of my body. "F-FAEN!" I screamed as I was pinned onto the ground.
I was stuck. I tried yanking the wing out, but it hurt. It hurt so much. A large rock hit my head, I felt a blunt pain, before everything went black.
