InuYasha Story: prompt Sad:
Flames and smoke that is what history books would record…if they found it interesting enough. Screams of terror were heard as a boy with white hair raced away from the approaching threat. With sun kissed skin, white hair and red clothing he knew he couldn't hide. He stood out far too much.
Danger was drawing closer and his adrenaline fueled stamina was failing. Tripping seemingly over nothing he tumbled, his heart was hammering in his ears. He closed his eyes as he knew there was no point in running. The villagers were close, he could see them, and even tho they approached with caution they were older, and stronger.
It didn't take long for them to surround his tiny form and beat him, ignoring his whimpers and cries of mercy. The villagers laughed and taunted the boy who just lost his mother to a terrible illness, the boys whose home they just torched.
The small child was about to given in to the pain and let go when he heard the softest voice ever call out to him.
"InuYasha, be strong, be brave and you will have a happy future. Please don't give up. Don't let them win."
Not sure if it was a real voice or not the soothing tone helped calm him and when the beatings stopped he managed to find safety. He would wait and live on so he could meet the person that promised a happy future.
Many years in the future he met a girl who came from the future.. he found comfort and laughs and even made friends, but it wasn't until his dying breath did he realize some how before Kagome could have even been born she had saved him and gave him hope.
That night when the fire burned in the fire pit and Kagome sat there crying, she heard a gruff voice promise they would be together again and not to cry.
Fire and smoke would be what the history books recorded of they cared enough about the half demon clad in red with flowing white hair. Sadly the history books would only tell horror stories of fire death and smoke… leaving the love story to become an untouched fable.
