Summery: her last match was over, all that was left was to say goodbye to everything…
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A solemn looking redhead stood in the middle of the ring in the now empty arena. Only an hour before she'd been standing in this same spot, having just wrestled her last match. She closed her eyes and could still hear the sound of the crowd, even those who had never liked her had been shouting her name, saying goodbye. She wondered if any of them knew how much she was going to miss them.
Hazel eyes opened again and looked around. She could see a few people going here and there, doing their jobs. She knew they'd need to start taking the ring down soon and she was probably getting in their way but no one had asked her to move yet, most of them respecting that she needed to do this, she needed to say goodbye.
She'd changed so much since the first time she'd gotten in this ring, this place that had become her home. Through everything she'd always felt most comfortable out here, flying around the ring. She was going to miss that feeling, of being free, like nothing on earth could hold her. When she was out here gravity didn't exist, not to her.
She thought about being out here with Matt and Jeff, it felt like a million years ago now but she would never forget it. Walking out with them, the way the crowd would react, it gave her goose bumps. She hadn't really felt like that again until tonight.
Tonight, nothing that had happened in the past had matter. All that mattered was that after tonight it was all over, she was leaving.
She'd thought about leaving before, when she'd broken her neck but she just hadn't been able to walk away, she wasn't ready then. Part of her still wasn't sure she was ready now. Maybe she never would be but it was the right time. She'd done everything she possibly could here and it's not like Edge needed her anymore, no one doubted that he deserved to be a main eventer anymore; he didn't need a sidekick now.
She was going to miss him more than anyone else; you can't spend every day for over a year with someone and not miss them. She knew he'd been upset when she told him she was leaving but he understood her reasons and didn't try to stop her.
Wiping a tear from her cheek she looked at her watch, it was time to go. She took one more look around her before she stepped through the ropes one last time. It was time to say goodbye to Lita and just be Amy again.
