Naruto Scifo

Chapter 1

One day in the lower quarter of Zaphias in a small room was a child with bright blue eyes and blond, spiky hair. The noticeable feature on the child was three whisker marks on each cheek, however on closer inspection the marks on his face were actually scars.

This was Naruto Scifo, twin brother of Flynn Scifo and son of Finath Scifo. Naruto was currently reading a book he found. Apparently it was a journal of a mercenary that came to the lower quarter and left his valuable possessions there and connected with the people of the lower quarter.

Naruto read the journal with great interest and learnt about the different monsters, artes and weapons, useful herbs, poisons and medicines even though he didn't understand it except for that he should wait until he was older.

He read that artes could be done with a Bodhi blastia to perform special abilities. Naruto was deeply immersed in the journal of the mercenary that he gained stars in his eyes.

"That's it!" Naruto said. "I'm going to be the best mercenary ever!" He said with full determination.

Naruto stopped as he heard on a knock on the door. "Hey Naruto, you in there?"

"Yeah!" Naruto replied as he walked to the door and opened it. "Hi Yuri" Naruto said as he saw his friend. Yuri Lowell was Naruto's and his Flynn's friend, he had black eyes and surprisingly long black purple hair.

Naruto met Yuri when he first moved to the lower quarter. Yuri, Flynn and Naruto became fast friends well except for Naruto and Flynn since there brothers and all but they were still close friends.

"What do you want to do today?" Yuri asked one of his best friends.

"Hmm I dunno" Naruto said as he sat down thinking of something to do. "How about we use those wooden swords?"

Yuri seemed to think about the suggestion then nodded. Yuri picked up one of the wooden swords that were in the room and so did Naruto. Naruto and Yuri held their swords up with Naruto's being in his right hand and Yuri's being in his left.

"Should we do this outside?"

"Yeah I guess we should don't want Flynn to yell at us again" Yuri said as Naruto laughed. Last time Yuri and Naruto did something like this Flynn gave them quite the scolding.

After Naruto locked up they went into the streets near Yuri's home, raising their wooden blades at each other. Suddenly both swung their swords causing them to clash and then each tried to get the upper hand on each other.

Sometime later after their little spar Naruto and Yuri where lying on the ground staring up at the sky watching the clouds pass by. Yuri turned to Naruto. "Hey Naruto" Naruto turned to face Yuri.

"Yeah Yuri?" Naruto asked as Yuri looked back at the clouds.

"When I get older…. I'm going to join the knights" Yuri said as Naruto blinked in surprise.

Naruto then smiled at Yuri. "Well good luck Yuri"

Yuri then turned to Naruto. "What are you going to do?"

Naruto then smiled at Yuri. "Unlike you or Flynn the knights don't suit me but don't worry I know what I'm going to do"

Yuri raised an eyebrow at his friend before giving a small laugh. "I don't know if I should be upset since you're not telling me or scared that you have a full time plan"

Naruto just gave a playful stare at Yuri. "I don't know if I should be offended or not" He said back before looking back at the clouds. "Besides… I don't think Flynn would even let me do something like join the knights anyway, he probably guilt me out of it or something" subconsciously touching his scars as Yuri looked away in the opposite direction.

The duo stayed there for a bit before one of them spoke up. "Well since we have years till you two actually leave… might as well make the best of the time we have left" Naruto said as he stood up followed by Yuri.

Years Later

Years passed on by and now Naruto was saying his goodbyes to his brother and friend. "Stay safe you two" Naruto looked over to his brother. "Flynn… be extra safe and watch after Yuri"

Flynn smiled. "Don't worry I will" Meanwhile in the background Yuri shouted at the two for keeping an eye on him. Flynn and Yuri left the lower quarter to become knights as Naruto headed back to his apartment.

Has he entered the apartment that his family owned he walked over to a chest and opened it retrieving the contents from within Naruto pulled out a small brown bag and started to check off the items within the bag.

"15 Apple Gels, 15 Orange Gels, 10 Magic Lens, a few Life Bottles, 5 Panacea Bottles, 2 Holy Bottles and 2 Dark Bottles" Naruto counted as he placed the bag of consumables on the floor. He then pulled out some armour that was inside the chest.

This chest belonged to the old mercenary and thankfully Old Man Hanks gave to Naruto. Naruto still wondered to this day why Hanks decided to give him the chest of the mercenary, was it his potential or his kindness to help his fellow lower quarter neighbours or was it sympathy from the old man.

Whatever the reason for Hanks giving Naruto the chest didn't really matter him. He put on the armour within the chest and his outfit consisted of a pair of silver gauntlets with black fingerless gauntlets underneath. The gauntlets went up to his shoulders and he wore a black sleeveless shirt with a face mask that covered the lower half of his face.

On top of the shirt he wore a white coat that went down to his knees, the coat didn't have sleeves like his shirt and the coat also had a hood. He wore a pair of long black pants that matched his shirt and a pair of black boots with white trimmings.

Naruto turned to a sword resting against the wall next to the chest. This was Claiomh Solais, the sword of the mercenary left behind. Before grabbing the sword he placed to bracelets on each wrist the bracelets where silver much like his gauntlets and they held a golden orb each. These were Bodhi blastia.

Naruto grabbed the sword along with the sword sheathe and picked up the bag and putting it away. Calmly walking to the door and pushing it open the sun reflected of his gauntlets.

The masked hooded man closed the door and locked it. Due to the taxes needed and with Flynn joining the knights hopeful Flynn's knight status would help decrease it but it was only hopeful thinking. He planned on sending gald to Hanks and let him pay both of their taxes.

Then again Yuri seemed to find a way to avoid paying his taxes. He walked through the lower quarter until he met with Hanks. "Hey old man I'm off!" Hanks turned around to see a masked hooded man that had Naruto's voice.

"Ah Naruto is that you?" He asked.

"Yep it's me!" Naruto said. Naruto then told Hanks of what he was going to do.

"So you are planning on following the footsteps of that old mercenary are you?" The old man asked which Naruto nodded. "You now if Flynn finds out he will flip out"

Naruto just waved his hand. "Meh Flynn always flips out" Naruto said as he started walking away. "If you need a good mercenary old man I'll be glad to take on any job you request"

Hanks laughed "I'll consider it"

Naruto left the safety of Zaphias' barrier blastia and looked around at the landscape. "Hmm should I go to Aspio maybe Dahngrest or Nordopolica" Naruto looked up at the sky. "I'll guess I'll go wherever my feet take me"

Naruto then started walking towards Aspio.

RANTING ABOUT VESPERIA!

Tales of Vesperia is my favourite game from the Tales series and has my favourite characters I just wished that the PS3 Version was localized, lucky Japan having more content and they could have released it as DLC or something.

However despite the differences between consoles, I do enjoy the 360 Version of the game and will be going with that story.
