She would come and go but the guild always stayed the same. The laughter, the happiness and their plain rowdiness was bound to make you smile. That's exactly what it did to the dark haired female mage as she finally made her way home.
-Welcome back Sphinx, came the first greeting of the night.
Blue eyes turned to her left to see the ever so beautiful bar maiden Mirajane wave at her. Her wide friendly smile made her even more approachable. Quickly Sphinx lifted her hand with a wave to greet her.
The blue eyes were slightly narrowed but Mirajane could tell that it was because of the wide grin, even if she couldn't really see her mouth. The mysterious Sphinx wore a black thin mask over the lower half of her face, nobody knew really why but in Fairy tail comrades and guild mates were accepted the way they are so nobody questioned it.
Otherwise the mage usually wore a gray hooded jacket that came to her mid-thigh. Even if her body was mostly cover still it was possible to see her hourglass figure. On her legs she wore black knee-high socks and black slightly heeled shoes. All and all Sphinx wasn't really colorful in her appearance even her hair was raven black if you don't count the few odd blue streaks in her hair.
The most colorful aspects were definitely her radiant blue eyes. Mirajane had never seen anyone with such vivid blue eyes; they would totally beat Lisanna's, Jenny Realight and even her own blue eyes. Sphinx's eyes were just always somehow more electric and so full of emotion.
It really was a pity she wore that veil on her face, Mira suspected her to actually be quite a looker. The natural sway in her walk and gracefulness could have anyone jealous. Mira sighed as she watched the woman disappear to the master's office probably to report about another successful mission. It had been a while since she had last seen her, a few weeks maybe more?
The dark haired mage would always chose missions that lasted at least four days, sometimes she would stay away for months at a time. So it was always nice to see her come back safe and sound. Lately though it seemed that Sphinx had bonded with Cana and was definitely starting to hang around more people in the guild.
Mirajane automatically smiled at her thoughts and started to prepare the mages favorite dish knowing that Sphinx must be hungry after a job. Almost as in cue the woman appear by the bar and sits down.
- Hey Mira, her velvet voice spoke.
-Evening Sphinx, here I made you your favorite, Mira said before handing her a plate.
-You are an angel, Sphinx exclaimed happily before digging in.
Mirajane didn't have time to ask more about there or her mission when a loud yell startled them both.
- YAAAUUH, finally your back, I though you got yourself beaten or something, Cana tautened while jumping up on the counter next to her friend
-Bah, as if, Sphinx said while again those blue eyes smiled at the drunken Card mage.
-Ne, so I know about this party tomorrow, you in? The brunette said excitedly.
Sphinx looked at her friend skeptically; it was never just a party with Cana. It always would involve something else or then somehow she would find herself in very awkward situations at the next day.
- It's not one of your weird fetish parties? Or some stupid blind-fold thing, because I swear if you do that to me one more time, the threat was halfhearted but Mirajane couldn't help but stare.
Cana laughed at Sphinx's paranoia even if it was totally logical. It had been a blast to drag her to different parties and even if the dark haired mage was now growling at her, it actually did show Cana a very different side of her. There was A LOT more to Sphinx than the plain dressing mage let on. Sure she was awkward when put on a spot light but Cana suspected that Sphinx had two sides to her.
Sphinx may not share Cana's love for booze but a turns out the mage was actually quite a pervert. In the right place she would get this flirtatious and playful side to her and somehow it was all very natural to her. Of course it was a blast for Cana to watch.
-Nah, this is a normal party in a normal bar, look even some of the other are coming, Cana said
Again those blue eyes looked at her in suspicion, they could be pretty intense and if Cana hadn't already drank so much she suspected that those eyes would have sent the unwanted shiver down her spine.
-oh, what the hell, finely giving in the Mage shrugged and her eyes returned to a friendly graze.
-So last I saw you, you had some boy toy around? What happened to that? that, that, what was he a teacher or something? Sphinx said suggestively.
- Wait you mean Totomaru, Mira said surprised before looking a Cana
-yeah that's the one, Sphinx grinned and leaned one elbow on the bar counter while turning towards her friend, before continue,
-So did he take you to School? Did you get some detention for being bad girl?
-Did he tell you to call him Sensei? Sphinx bantered Cana who just laughed.
-Oh Sphinx you need to stop those, so lame and no, he started to want something more and you know I don't do 'more', The brunet gave a little shove at her friend cheesy puns.
-Well that's a pity I think you would have made a cute couple, Mira said while whipping of the counter,
Of course the take-over mage did already have the whole scoop on Cana and Totomaru and was a little sad that two didn't work out.
- Yeah well I don't think 'Daddy dearest' would approve of his little Cana to date Totomaru anyway; Sphinx started to look around.
-Wait there is Daddy anyway?
Cana gave a glare at the way Sphinx always had to put that velvet sexy voice of her to use, when saying that word. And damn did she do it well, when she wanted to say something with 'that voice' it came out so suggestive and naughty as they get. Cana had had front row seats when Sphinx had suddenly had her voice dip to a whole new level in seduction, it was all pure sinful and there were no end to all the free drinks.
Since finding out about their relations Sphinx had a time of her life teasing Cana about her fanatic father. Gildart was an impressive mage but became pretty comical and over protective when it came to Cana.
-Would you stop calling him that, it's really creepy. And his somewhere around, won't let me go to a mission before he has spent some time with me, the Card mage said sounding a little sour.
-Oh don't sound like that. You're lucky to have a man like that looking after your reckless ass, who knows where you'd wake up at? The blue eyes smiled at her.
- Yeah right, your one to talk! You even more reckless than I am, miss innocent. Besides I don't need the old man to watch over me, I got you for that,
- Oh, please, the way you drag me to every kicky little adventure you can think off,
Sphinx scoffed and just enjoyed to see how Mira seemed to get redder behind the counter with every word the two argued.
- When you wake up in some shit, don't you think I'll be right there with you, feet just as deep? Sphinx said making Cana laughed in agreement.
-Hell yes, and you love my kinky adventures, beside the karaoke place was your Idea,
- Oh God, don't reminded me, I honestly though they were going to eat us, Sphinx shudder at the memory,
-And not in a good way.
Mira now looked up curiously at the two, in what kind of karaoke bar had they been in? Cana just chuckled before downing another large mug of ale.
-Hmm, at the times like that I really would like to have a Daddy to erase the bad memories, again the grin came to her face when Cana almost choked in her drink.
- Hah, maybe I'll borrow yours. Hmm let's see how that would go,
Sphinx smiled before clearing her voice and putting an innocent and pleading look to her big blue eyes and place both of hand in front of her sweetly, but there was nothing sweet about her voice as it came out in husky pleading tune.
- hmm, Daddy, daddy, I think I've been a very bad girl,
- Want to tuck me in Daddy and maybe hold me little? Sphinx finished with a wink to the wide eyed Cana who had even stopped drinking.
Sphinx waited for her friend to respond in another curse at her but no Cana and Mira stayed quiet, but Sphinx didn't need to ask the reason behind this behavior when she felt some one loom over her shoulder.
- IF you call me like that, there's no way I could refuse, His voice was low and masculine like always.
Oh mother earths please swallow me now?
That familiar voice was capable of wooing and whispering sweet things to make women yearn for more but Sphinx felt nothing but dread from the voice, this voice made her heart take an extra beat and her face heat in embarrassment.
Quickly she jumped off the barstool and turned to look at none other than the number one strongest mage in Fairy tail, the famous crash magic wilder, Cana's father and the very man she had just been making Daddy jokes about.

Sphinx had to tilt her head upwards to meet the man's amused gaze. He looked the same as always with the black cloak over his shoulders. It wasn't until Cana loud laughter snapped her out of her humiliation did Sphinx finally turning her red face away and murmured a quiet,
-ugh, Hey Gildarts,
The man only seemed to grin at her discomfort more. From the corner of her eye Sphinx noticed even Mira having difficulties to hold in a low giggle.
Yeah, thanx for the warning, Sphinx though as her hand came to rub her head awkwardly as her other arm hugged her waist.
- The look on your face! Priceless, Cana said in between laughter.
Sphinx growled at her friend with a glare as she finally started to calm down. Gildarts order ale from Mira who complied as he sat down next to the bar.
-So I just heard you came back from a mission Sphinx, did everything go well? The rouged looking man asked still with a glee in his eyes.
Sphinx and Gildarts knew each other mostly because of Cana, but they hardly talked about anything other than changed short pleasantries while they bumped into each other. The dark haired female bite her lip and desperately tried to shake of the redness on her face before answering.
-Ah, yeah, she spoke hesitantly,
-it when well, she paused and sifted her weight on her feet,
- Nothing too difficult, it was mostly just guarding job,
Sphinx was at lost, she didn't know how to react or do now. This was Gildarts, Cana's father and she didn't think she was able to just do the switch with him.
-Well I'm glad, the man said before taking a long drink of the ale.
He let out a loud sigh, enjoying the taste of his drink. Sphinx glanced at the grinning Cana who lifted her eyebrow at her before nudging suggestively at her father. Her blue eyes had enough time to give Cana a glare before the easy-going man suddenly turned towards her making direct eye contact.
- I would hate to see you get hurt,
He didn't give her a laidback grin or a friendly smile, no, he gave her a smirk. It almost felt like a challenge as those dark eyes slowly looked her up and down. The man indeed was teasing her.
Sphinx heard the other, mainly Cana, chuckle. Oh, this was good, a challenge she could deal with. The dark hared woman looked at her best friend with a subtle look, cocking one of her dark eyebrows almost as in a silent question.
Gildart could almost see the aura change around her as she glanced at his daughter.
- Go ahead, Cana said to the woman with a knowing grin, even without her asking anything out loud.
Not a second later was he looking at the most beautiful blue eyes. She didn't turn her head in shyness anymore, no she held his with a mischievous glint.
Interesting.
She took half a step closer, her hip cocked to the side as she leaned her weight on one foot. It really was an instant way to make his eyes take in her luscious shape.
Makes you wonder what she would look like without the jacket.
- You were worried about me? Her voice sounded again a little lower and a little soother.
Gildarts didn't answer as she took another step forward now standing right in front of his bar stool. Those blue eyes looked so alive as they held his gaze. She might not be very tall but she still held herself with a mature and prideful aura, exactly like a woman should.
- You don't have to worry, I can take care of myself, she almost whispered to him with that graceful huskiness.
Gildart felt something run over his leg boldly, a little startled he glanced down, but there was nothing. I Sphinx had moved or touched him he would have seen it, so the Crash mage was a little confused.
-Then again,
Gildarts eyes instantly when black to those seductive blue ones. Now her voice, it was back to that husky velvet sound. The same way he had first heard her as he had made his appearance. Unconsciously he swallowed as he waited for her to continue.
- Would it be so bad? Again she paused, Gildart saw her look him up and down in a suggestive way.
-Hmm, she hummed lowly.
-I'm sure you could nurture me back to health,
He couldn't deny his surprise; Sphinx had only been labeled the good friend of her daughter in his mind. This however was breaking no, not breaking it shredding that label.
- Couldn't you, she put a little plead note as she stepped right between his knees.
Her hip brushed against his leg, oh she was good.
- You could make me feel all better; she slowly drew out the words.
- Couldn't you, Daddy,
Gildart could feel his body almost shudder at her word,
Oh what he would like to do to her, it was almost wrong to hear her call him that.
Sphinx winked at the man before stepping away from him. Her aura dimmed down as she took her station back beside his daughter.
-Well Cana I really need to get to know your friend more, Gildart grinned, he had quit enjoy Sphinx's act.
- Hah, no way, old man, I'm not having her as a step-mother, Cana answered immediately.
The raven haired mages head wiped to Cana in such shock eyes that had Guildarts laughing. Sphinx glared at her before crossing her arms over her chest.
- I think I'll go now, Sphinx said as awkwardness again filled her being.
She quickly nodded towards Mira and Guildarts before giving another halfhearted glare at Cana and started to leave the guild. She could hear the merry laughter around her and couldn't help but smile when she hear the crash mage whiny voice.
-Oh, Cana, I think you just scared her away. ..
