All over the Supercomputer alarm bells were ringing. No question why. It was Byte. This young virus was born in a system on the far edge of the net. There, he had quickly revealed a new way of infection. He only infected one binome. She then infected the rest while Byte escaped. All sprites and binomes had lost their format. By the time the effects had left them, the system was half-nullified and near a crash.
Byte was soon well known amongst the Net when the guardians noticed. To handle him they sent their best, Meg. She had a cadet named Bob. Only Bob returned, with Byte in restraints. Where Meg went is unknown, and no speculation has been made. Bob refused to talk about it, and the days returned to normal.
Now, Byte escaped. He infected two guardians, both of which were put in stasis. He had just stolen a spare icon. The guardians were in full patrol around the Supercomputer, as the virus was sneaking around, but Bob took it very seriously.
The young guardian was Byte's latest target. It was, at the time, unknown why, but he was. Byte was ready to make use of his plan when Bob noticed. The virus pounced.
"Glitch, weapon." The laser weapon the keytool became hit Byte on the arm. It slowed him down for a few nanos but let him get up. The next millisecond, Bob was reporting to Turbo.
"You let him get away. Why?"
Bob swallowed and said, "Bad aim."
Turbo took a few nanos to decide if Bob was joking. Deciding not, the head guardian said, "It could happen to anyone."
"Hello," said a mysterious voice. It was Byte. He had downloaded the icon into himself. Before one could respond, the cadet was infected. A hand to hand battle started, ensuring that both of them were injured. Then came the last twist.
The system said "W-w-w-warning, in-in-incoming-ing-ing g-g-game." It repeated itself while Byte ran to the spot, secretly tapping his icon. Bob followed after him.
"Bob, no," Turbo shouted. "That's the…"
But both Bob and Byte were in the game.
"…hardest game ever."
