Forgotten, I hide in a stillborn place in time,
while memories replay in black and white.
The tears have gone dry and stale,
just like the truth has for all these years.
I just wanted someone to see me.
Is that too much to ask?
Forgotten, I trail behind, fitting
my bare feet into your dusty footprints.
The nightmare rewinds, skipping
and jumping; so abused by this life.
I just want you to see me.
Sorry, did I scare you?
Forgotten, and not too many believe
in the things that they cannot see.
Figments of imagination, that's me;
flicker of a shadow in the corner of your eye.
I just want someone to remember.
Will you remember for me?
Forgotten, a bedtime story that
no child should ever had to have heard.
Silence, because all laughter died
when that final shot rang out.
I want to laugh again.
Will you laugh with me?
Oh, laugh for me.
I'm still following
Still watching.
Fin.
I really am writing a lot of poetry recently :P reviews appreciated.
