Heart of ice, oh so cold,
Never letting true feelings unfold.
Scarlet eyes speckled with indifference,
Always guarded, waiting for the attack that never comes.
Façades in place, barriers strong,
Protecting a soul unaccustomed to love,
Secretly yearning for the unobtainable.
Mind procrastinating:
Should I open my heart, let my soul be unbounded?
The answer is never changing, no.
