Author's Note: Welcome to my novelization of Pokémon Sun and Moon! The story will be relatively the same, just some story aspects and a few other things are tweaked/improved. Hope you enjoy!

Chapter 1: Alola!

"1 more hour until we reach the lush Alola region!" The ferry attendant's voice rang from the intercom.

The sun was shining brightly on the waves of the ocean, creating sparkles that were almost blinding. On the top deck was a boy from the Kanto region, eagerly awaiting to arrive in his new home. He had just finished swimming in the ferry's pool and could feel the breeze flowing through his black hair. This good weather was definitely helping his good mood.

"Sun, sweetie!" yelled a familiar voice from the other side of the deck. Sun's mother stood on the other side of the dock, wearing a white blouse and a long yellow skirt with a white floral pattern. At her side was her Meowth, curiously staring at the purses of the other passengers

"Yeah mom, what's up?" Sun responded.

"We're gonna be arriving soon at the port in Hau'oli City! Go shower up and get dressed!"

"Okay mom I will!"

Sun ran down the stairs of the deck towards his room. His thoughts were racing with the thought of who his first Alolan Pokémon could be. His thoughts were racing so fast that he didn't pay attention to the girl that he ran into at full force. The collision made one big "OOOF" sound.

"Hey man, watch where you're going!" said the girl as she held her head in pain.

"I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention and-" Sun froze. He got a good look at the girl's face. Her shoulder length black hair shone in the light of the sun glinting through the window. She looked up at him and they both saw they had the same black colored eyes.

"Are you gonna gawk at me all day or help me up?"

"Oh, right, sorry, my bad." Sun reached out and pulled her up from the ground.

"Thanks, um..."

"Sun's the name. What's yours?"

"Moon."

Sun laughed.

"What's so funny?"

"Well, you're Moon, and I'm Sun..."

"So?"

"Never mind."

Sun bode farewell to Moon and ran to his room. He took off his bathing suit and hopped in the shower. After what seemed like two minutes, he hopped out, dried himself, and put on his clothes; a blue and white striped shirt, black and red shorts, and his pair of black shoes. He ran out to meet his mom on the top deck and could see a small, but bustling city port in the horizon getting closer. He ran up next to his mom and could hardly contain his excitement.

"Are you ready, Sun?" his mom said as she looked at her jittery boy getting excited.

"You don't even know the half of it, mom." Sun replied.

The intercom cracked on, and the words that came out almost made everyone on board cheer loudly.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have arrived in the Hau'oli City Port. Welcome, everyone, to the Alola Region!"
