This is a tribute to Amber Riley. I think she is one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen and I think she has a beautiful soul as well. I also love Mercedes Jones who is an extremely well written character in my opinion and I think in the third season she has evolved a lot.

Mercedes was finishing getting ready for Arties New Years Eve party. She wanted to look her best for the occasion. The diva decided to wear a sexy silver number Kurt had made her for her birthday last year. She slipped on her dark pink high heels and presented herself in front of her floor length mirror. She looked gorgeous. Her hair was long and curly a style she never tried before.

"Girl you look fine" she praised her reflection. Mercedes had a lot to be thankful for and to be happy about. For the first time she was a leader. She got to caption her own Glee club and fell like she was truly number one. In the back of her mined though, it hurt that she left New Directions. She missed Kurt and the others and in fact she also missed Rachel. Even though she felt it was unfair that Rachel got a lot of attention she hated fighting with her. They had grown to become friends and she enjoyed their girl time. But being the leader of the Trouble tones was the best thing to ever happen to her. It helped Mercedes evolve and grow and even fined strength within her self. She turned when she heard a knock on her bedroom door.

"Honey can I come in?" Mrs. Jones asked.

"Sure mom." Mercedes answered.

"Sam just got here." Her mother said. This made Mercedes blush. It was hard but Mercedes realized that her and Shane could never truly be. Sam and her had a real connection. She knew this when he asked her to dance at the junior prom.

"I want to give you something before you go." But before Mercedes could ask, her mother revealed a pair of beautiful silver earrings in the palm of her hand. Mercedes was taken back.

"Mom those are Grandmas earrings."

"There going to you anyway but I thought they would be perfect for you tonight." Mercedes turned too look at herself in the mirror as she put the earrings on.

"You look beautiful sweetheart." Mercedes felt beautiful and her mother saying it only made it feel truer. They hugged. Mercedes descendent the stairs to See Sam with his big smile wearing slacks and a nice jacket.

"You look gorgeous" He complimented. The embraced and Mercedes gave her boyfriend a passionate kiss.

"You ready to go?" She asked. He said yes then they both walked into the night. This had been a great Year for Mercedes Jones.
