The long overdue prequel to Lover Doll. There is mild alcohol use but nothing too bad. Please enjoy!

"I can't believe this." Jordan fumes as she walks to the kitchen

"I know, sweetheart." He says, following her.

Bucky had gotten his orders. In two days he would be leaving for Europe and she needed a drink. Pronto. She reached in the liquor cabinet for a bottle of whiskey and a glass. Sending a silent thank you to her best friend for getting the bottle for her birthday, she pours a little more than she should in her glass.

"Jordan, sweethea-" Bucky reaches for the glass but she jerks it away too quickly.

"James Buchanan Barnes, don't you dare," Her voice is getting more unsteady by the second, "Who knows how long you'll be gone or when you'll come back? If you'll come back." Her eyes widen at the realization of her words. She downs the drink to hide her tears.

"Come here." He tries to wrap his arms around her but she backs up just out of reach.

"No. I can't do this, Bucky. I'm not strong enough." She pours another glass not caring that her tears are now falling freely. Jordan knows she's probably overreacting. She knows she needs to be strong for Bucky but, right now she's too scared.

"Look at me," He takes her face in his hands, stroking her tears away with his thumbs, "You are one of the strongest women I've ever met. Just knowing you will be here, waiting for me, is what will get me back home." She stares up at him through her tears. God, she loves this man.

"Bucky, I'm sorry. I am acting completely ridiculous." He wraps her in his arms and rests his chin on her head.

"No you're not. You are acting completely normal. You always worry." He holds back a smirk.

"Hey!" She smacks his chest playfully, "I don't always worry. Just when you are about to do something incredibly stupid... so maybe you're right." Jordan pulls away and looks up at him with a smug smile.

"I'm going to serve my country." He pulls her back into the hug she pulled away from.

"War is pointless, Bucks. It's just a bunch of men getting their knickers in a twist." She says matter of factly.

"I suppose you're right." They both sigh in content. Bucky kisses the top of her head and runs his fingers through her hair.

"Although, I do love a man in uniform." Jordan grins.

"Oh? Is that so?" Bucky cocks a brow and looks down at her.

"Oh yes. To tell you the truth though," The whiskey making her more bold, she stands up on her tip toes and whispers in his ear, "I love them out of uniform more."

"Well that can be arranged, doll." His accent draws out her nickname and she feels warmth shoot to her lower belly and pool between her legs.

"Bucky." She says his name in what was meant to be a playful scolding but came out more like a moan.

"Yes, doll?" His smirk has turned mischievous now. The jerk knows what he's doing. Oh that's it! She gets up on her tip toes once more getting close to his lips. Bucky leans forward slightly waiting for their lips to touch but she puts her finger against them.

"Catch me." Jordan takes off, giggling like a school girl.
