Sparks flew as the Doctor finished welding the final component. As he prepared to hook it into the main console, he sent up a silent prayer that it would work this time. Pausing to wonder just who he was praying to, he plunged the circuitry into the console. Instantly, the lights in the room dimmed. Whirling quickly around, he held his breath, and stared into...

… the lifeless eyes of his attempted android.

"COME ON!" he screamed, slamming his fists onto the console, his breath shuddering in fury.

"What did I do wrong? What haven't I tried?!" he exclaimed, beginning to frantically frantically flip switches and twist dials, calculations already circling through his brain.

He felt a touch on his shoulder.

"Not now, Clara, I'm busy," responded he, on instinct. It took a second until he realized... Clara was home for Easter.

Which meant that there was someone else behind him. He turned slowly around, half fearing what he might find. As his eyes met the pale blue pair opposite him, his anger quickly faded away, to be replaced by a searing joy.

"I did it."
