"Hello? Hello??" called the slightly battered knight, to the
inky black depths of the cave. Only the echoes returned
"hello hello hello," fainter each time.
The knight, our valiant hero looked slightly worn. In
his battered helm and not so shining plate mail. The sword he
wore at his side had the look of long familiar use, Its long
straight scabbard was wrapped with a faded blue cloth, the
cross guard dented and dull with spots of the original bright
sheen showing through, the ends were fashioned into twin
dragon heads. The hilt was wrapped with solid leather and
stained with sweat.
Cautiously the knight ventured in. Sticking to the
edges of the cave, which was about 50 ft. across and nearly
30 up. Large stalagtights hung threateningly from the
ceiling, and huge round stalagmights reared up from the
ground. Unseen to the knight one of the shadows towards the
back of the cave was stirring.
As the knight crept ever closer to the rear of the cave
he noticed a very strange odor. A slightly musty scent tinged
with decay and if possible for a scent death. On noticing
this, the knight paused and started to search the shadows
even more thoroughly.
Suddenly one of the shadows at the back detached itself
from the wall where it had been hiding and hurtled towards
the knight. Luckily for the knight he had been looking in
that direction and had just time to hurtle out of the way of
3 tons of spiked fiery death.
The dragon whose way he had just hurtled out of was a
Hebridean Black. 30 ft. long, black and very fast this was
the terror of the local towns, and the knight's quest. Along
the spine of the dragon ran razor sharp ridges that ended in
an arrow shaped spike at end of the dragon's tail. Bat like
wings were folded tight to the body at present and the huge
glowing purple eyes cast shadows of their own in the cave.
As the knight threw himself behind a stalagtight the
dragon jetted a stream of liquid fire after him. The rock
that the knight had been standing on was reduced to a puddle
of brightly glowing ooze.
Quickly running back around the stalagtights between
the 2 of them the knight threw himself at the left back leg
of the dragon. Hoping to hamstring the beast. The dragon
seeing the knight coming jerked its back end around and
lashed its tail through the air where the knight had just
flown; Several stalagtights were demolished when the razor
sharp tail hit them. Coming up under the belly of the dragon
the knight managed to score a long shallow hit along the
underbelly of the dragon.
As the black acidic blood of the dragon began to flow
it let out an earsplitting roar and snapped its head after
the fleeing knight. Unfortunately for the dragon the roar had
shaken free a couple of stalagtights one of which came down
on its head, temporarily stunning it.
Taking advantage of this the knight rushed in to stab
the dragon in the chest. His enchanted sword was buried
nearly to the hilt before he was forced to jump back as the
dragon's head smashed down to crush him.
Nearly loosing his sword the knight fled to behind a
very large stalagmight while waiting for the dragon to stop
thrashing and demolishing stalagtights and stalagmights in
it's agony.
When the dragon had started to hunt for him again the
knight threw a handy rock across the cave, and after the
dragon had turned to blast what it thought was the knight;
the knight rushed in to deliver a killing stroke. Leaping
high up onto the dragon's neck the knight brought his sword
down in a mighty stroke that nearly severed the neck.
Running outside to avoid the dragons death throws and
grab a bit of fresh air the knight hurtled over the
stalagmights in his path and fled the dragon's horrible
crashing.
