DO NOT READ if you haven't read the 7th book

I cradled your head in my lap, brushing hair away from your face with my shaking hand.

Why did we separate, Fred? I thought, tears beginning to trickle down my face. We go everywhere together. Percy could have handled it on his own.

Burning guilt flooded through me as I watched mum sob uncontrollably over your body.

I remembered, only a short hour earlier, running down the corridor with you by my side. We came to a fork and skidded to a halt. To the left was a girl, slumped on the ground, Greyback advancing slowly. To the right, was Percy, fighting two Death Eaters.

"You help Percy, I'll take Greyback!" I had yelled, barely glancing at you as we charged forward in different directions.

Fighting the urge to wail, I squeezed my eyes shut.

My fault, my fault, my fault.

I had told you, told you, to take the right fork. With a split-second, decision, I killed you.

I am so sorry, brother.

Leaning down, I whispered in your ear, so only you could hear.

"I'll always love you, I already miss you, and I'm sorry that for once, I can't come with you."

Author's Note- The more I think about Fred, the more I cry
