The sea was bathed in red as it reflected the light of the sun setting. The sky was also filled with the same colour. So red and so sad yet at the same time so beautiful.
It was a magnificent sight yet also a frightening one. It reminded him of the blood of all the people who died in the war especially those that he killed.
"Why?" He asked himself. "Why do conflicts exist? Must more blood be spilled so that wars will end? Even so, will another conflict arise and spill even more blood?
Will there truly be everlasting peace? Can conflicts cease without fighting?"
There were so many questions yet no answers to them. He still hasn't found the answers since the last war.
"…….I….I don't wanna fight….I don't wanna see people die anymore….I…I don't want to take away people's lives…"
Then, he recalled the events of the past war. He was just a normal coordinator, although being a coordinator is not what you'd usually call normal. He was just a kid enjoying life just like any other kid. Until the day he had to pilot the Gundam suits. He didn't have any other choice.
The war had reached his home and to protect his friends he had to fight. The irony was that to protect his friends, he had to fight his best friend Athrun Zala who had become a soldier of Zaft. Athrun was he best friend but they were separated when Athrun moved to Plant. He never thought that Athrun would ever be a soldier because Athrun hated conflicts. So many things happened during that war, the war after the Bloody Valentine. He killed so many people. People who had families. He also lost his best friend Tolle and Fllay.
He tried to remember Tolle and Fllay. Their faces and their voices. What they'd be doing if they were still alive. To not be able to see Tolle and Fllay again… The thought of that caused his heart to ache. He suddenly felt so much sadness and sorrow. As if they just died in front of him.
He felt that his heart was squeezed so hard it would explode. Then he burst out crying. He just wanted free all his sadness and sorrow. As he cried, he looked towards the sea. The blood red colour was replaced by a serene black. The water now reflected the full yellow moon and the endless sea of stars. It was as if the blood had disappeared and forgotten like the endless cycle of day and night. But the blood of those he shed could never be forgotten as it would be etched into his memories forever. The sight ofthe beautiful sky stopped his crying and his feelings of sadness were replaced byserenity. He continued to stare at the skyuntil a familiar voice shouted his name out.
"I'll be right there!" He shouted back. And as he walked slowly back towards the house on the beach where he lived, he turned back one last time to bathe in the sight of the star-filled sky. After a while he heard the same voice shouting his name and walked back towards the house.
