The Majestic Owl

A/N: Okay...so this is just a birthday-one shot for my best friend PurpleOwlsHRJ. I hope you enjoy this! :)

The first time the witches and wizards of Hogwarts saw her was at the Quidditch Pitch.

The Gryffindors had won the match, and the Marauders were cheering—about to celebrate in the Gryffindor common room, no doubt. Sirius was going to wreak havoc, and James Potter was no doubt going to try—and fail—to ask out Lily Evans.

That's the first time anyone saw her. There she was, flying around the Quidditch pitch.

The students look at her and gasp. Murmurs of: "What owl is that?" or "I've never seen that before." or "How wonderful!" penetrated the stadium.

Albus Dumbledore looked at the owl with interest. He, in all his years, had never seen an owl like that.

He called her the Majestic Owl.

The owl then flew away from the Quidditch pitch; not to be seen again for another twenty years.

The next time the Majestic Owl is seen by a Hogwarts student is twenty years later.

Harry Potter thought he was going insane. He had been writing lines for the evil toad Professor Umbridge—I must not tell lies, over and over again.

That was, until, he saw something weird. What had looked like a purple owl was flying around the Quidditch pitch.

Harry blinked; not believing what he had seen.

No, he had thought. Writing all these lines must have been getting to him.

He looks up at the window again. The owl was perched up on a goalpost; staring right at him.

"What is it, Mr. Potter?" Umbridge asks him.

Harry turns to Umbridge, and then his eyes drift back to the window.

The owl had disappeared.

"Um—it's nothing Professor." Harry mumbles.

"Of course it is," Umbridge says softly. She turns back to what she was doing, but not before saying: "Naughty children deserve to be punished."

Harry turns back to the window—and there the purple owl was, staring at him.

Umbridge glances at him, and he quickly went back to writing.

When he turned back around—the owl was gone again.

Yes—Harry James Potter thought he was going insane.

It's what makes the owl more Majestic.

She shows up when she wants to.

Albus Dumbledore had not forgotten about the owl everyone saw twenty-one years ago at the Quidditch pitch. He had tried—and failed, to research the species of the Majestic Owl.

He knew that he was facing death right in its eye right now. He needed to die. "Severus," He croaks. "Severus, please."

Severus raises his wand, "Avada Kedavra!"

Dumbledore was shocked to see the very same owl that was seen twenty-one years ago, watching him as he died.

Then he fell into the darkness.

The last thing Dumbledore had seen before his death was the Majestic Owl.

The Battle of Hogwarts had passed—it had been twenty one years since anyone saw the Owl.

In reality—the owl was waiting in a hidden spot by the creek. The owl desired a person who could understand her—who would accept her—and not research her.

The next person to see this Owl would be Harry Potter's daughter, Lily Luna Potter.

The small first-year was wandering around the woods and stumbled into the owl's hiding spot.

Not many people have that ability.

"Wow," Lily exclaims. "This owl combines two of my favorite thing—owls, and purple!"

She walks closer to the Owl in excitement. The Owl realizes that Lily wasn't obsessed with the research.

"It would be so cool if I could," she hesitates. "Keep you."

For once—the owl didn't fly away.

"I'm Lily by the way," she tells the owl. "Lily Luna Potter."

The owl flies on Lily's shoulder. "I think I'll call you—Majesty."

The owl hoots—pleased with the name.

The Majestic Owl had finally found a home after all these years.

Somewhere where the owl was finally accepted; and not researched on, or called abnormal.

However, we can all wonder what her father will say when he sees the owl that caused him stress over fifth year...

They called her the Majestic Owl—and she found an owner in Lily Luna Potter.

A/N: How did you like it? I hope it qualifies as a good birthday present! I know, it's sort of corny. If people could send me reviews, that would be great! I'd love to know what you all think! :)
