Nobody knew that Percy and Annabeth were friends. It's not that they specifically told anyone that they weren't, but their usual routine had nothing to with each other.

I mean, c'mon, Percy had all the normal classes, she had all AP classes. He tended to stay with his close knit group of friends (Piper, Thalia, Travis, Connor, Leo, Frank) while Annabeth stayed with her boyfriend Luke and her 'popular' ( not all that hi-fi, but still) which included but not only Jason, Nico, Hazel etc.( and also a bunch of random people, whom Annabeth didn't turn a hair for).

Obviously, they stayed on different paths; only mere courtesies were exchanged if they somehow ran into each other in the corridor.

But one day, the students (few teachers too) the high school students were in for a surprise (of course half of the population couldn't care less about Percabeth, but for us, it sure is a big deal).

It started out pretty normal for Annabeth; get dressed, go to school, kiss Luke. But however, things went downhill. It all started when Luke decided on a very public break up (and after the events that followed, Luke really wished that he had seen sense sooner).

Well, Annabeth walked in on Luke and some random nameless making out. And whatever you say, even if you didn't imagine that guy in your future anyways, that's gotta hurt.

So in the canteen, Annabeth, inspite of her immense self control, shouted "What the fuck do you think you are doing, Castellan?"

Luke looking shocked and dazed, lips slightly red finally focussed on Annabeth and had an internal moment of oh-shit-I-fucked-up. But he managed to fuck up even more, "I texted you that I am breaking up with you?"

"Texted me! What the actual fuck?"

After that began the shouting match after which nobody could say that Annabeth was a sweet little innocent girl. And Luke ended up getting a black eye and a kick in the gut.

But even though she was strong (by way too much), she still had a heart which just got broken. And so yes, fat tears did spill out of eyes and ran out of the canteen...

Wait for it.

...and straight into Percy Jackson.

I think Annabeth looked up to apologize and Percy was bewildered by the sudden addition of a blond mass, but when they realised it was the other, their reactions kind of changed.

For some reason, Annabeth started crying harder and hugged Percy tight and he, on the other hand, grew angry. (Fikar not, Percabeth prevails, as always, even under the most ridiculous situations)

He looked around the cafeteria, trying to find out who did this to the girl under his protection.

He wrapped his hand around Annabeth and whispered, "Whom do I need to kill?"

"Him," she answered pointed in the general direction of Luke.

One thing you should know about Percy Jackson is that he is a pretty chill. But in that moment, there was a furious glint in his eyes. He walked towards with an intent to kill, as if he was going to war (''cause even though it an AU, he needs to be macho).

He closed in on the slightly confused Luke and said (quite threateningly, might I add), "You ever do that again and you would wish that you were dead," with his best I'll-kill-you-later glare. Then he punched Luke in the face.

On his way out, he lifted Annabeth in his arms and went away (probably for a drive around town and a trip to the ice-cream store).

So let it be known, Percy Jackson's is every girl's wildest dreams. (More specifically fan girls, although we get that he is Annabeth's. Yes and also Uncle Rick's.)
