TRUST
"Its not that I don't trust you" Edward Cullen told his brothers, his eyes closed as he pinched the bridge of his nose with one hand.
"But you know how I feel about this. I just don't want to risk an accident if we don't need to. I'd feel better if I went with you"
"There's not enough room for you to come Edward. It's not like were planning anything outrageous, it's just a quick trip to Pt Angeles." Emmett pointed out.
"I thought you wanted us to do things with Bella and make her feel like part of the family?"
"I do" Edward huffed, "and I appreciate the thought that you both have put into this. I'm just not convinced this trip is the greatest idea. I mean what if something goes wrong?"
Jasper sighed, exasperated by Edwards stubborn nature. By the time they convinced him that their idea was perfectly safe and that nothing bad would happen they could have been to Pt Angeles and back already.
"Nothings going to go wrong" he pointed out. "Alice has already checked."
"Jasper, you know as well as I do that her visions aren't always certain!" The bronze haired vampire began to pace. "Something could change. Practically anything could happen!"
His brothers exchanged a look. Clearly, Edward's paranoia was becoming worse.
A wave of calm enveloped him and he glared at Jasper.
"You need to calm down" Jasper shrugged.
"Yes. There is a remote possibility that something could happen, but we would handle it like we always do. But nothing is going to go wrong. There is no risk. It's not like we are going to be visiting cannibals or hiking up active volcanoes.
Hell Edward, I bet the closest we come to trouble is seeing a fireman rescuing a cat that's been stuck up a tree."
Emmett chuckled. For some reason he always found the idea of firemen rescuing cats hilarious.
"FINE!" Edward threw his hands up in defeat. He knew his brothers would keep pestering him until he caved in anyway.
"I warn you though, ANY damage when you return, and I mean anything less than the perfect condition in which she is now, even if it's not your fault…"
"We know" Emmett cut him off cheerfully.
"Dismemberment!"
And with that he snatched the Volvo's keys from Edward's hands and ran to the driver's door.
Jasper sent another wave of calm and reassurance at Edward as he climbed into the passenger seat.
"You know we wouldn't have asked, but Alice's Porsche is too small and Rosalie is servicing the jeep today." He reminded his brother.
"Go and spend some time with Bella. We will be back before you know it with the gift we ordered for her."
Edward just nodded as Emmett drove the shiny Volvo out of the large garage.
"Take care of my baby" he whispered quietly, watching the silver car disappear down the tree lined drive before turning back toward the house.
