"How does bike racing sound to you guys?" said Lily, smirking. She pushed back her golden curls as she waited for their reply, hands already on the bicycle. Two others sat by it's side, and two boys stood by hers.

"Yeah!" said Jeremy, intense as ever. Even his hair seemed to emote, appearing spikier than ever. Nate had to resist the urge to laugh. "Let's get started right away—break won't last forever!"

"I'm just glad we get a break off from everything," said Nate, crossing his arms. He pushed his glasses farther up his face, the sun casting a glare over his eyes. "I'm going to do absolutely nothing."

"Oh, don't be like that. School's fun, you know." Lily rolled her eyes as Nate shook his head, a laugh escaping her. "C'mon, let's go to the old dirt track. You won't be able to see me all break after my trip, after all."

She took out her phone, looking at a picture of the Colosseum. 'Can't wait,' she thought, glancing back at Nate and Jeremy. 'I'll miss you guys, though. Wish we had a bit more time together.'

The old dirt track was abandoned—just how they liked it. No eyes burning into their backs, no pictures to worry about—just the three of them, all together. Jeremy jumped onto his bike, doing a few loops around the track; Lily did the same. Nate sat over by an oak tree, pulling out his phone. He tugged on his jacket, curling up.

"What're you playing?" asked Lily, panting. Her blue sweater clung to her, as did her hair. A pixelated game met her eyes as she peered over, chip-tune music floating through the air. "Oh, that's the game you were telling me about, right?"

"Terraria, you mean?" Nate quirked a brow, a wide smirk on his face; Lily glared, before bursting into laughter. "It's good. You basically fight a bunch of bosses, and—hey, look, a falling star!"

A star fell to the ground, bouncing along. Nate's avatar picked it up, storing it in the inventory. "These increase your mana, if I'm correct."

"Wow, that's cool!"

"Does it have some level-up system?" Lily and Nate almost screamed when Jeremy appeared behind them, emerging from behind the tree. He roared with laughter, holding his sides as Lily gave him her "why-would-you-do-that" face. It only made him laugh harder, tears starting to form.

"You jerk!" Nate elbowed him, and Jeremy leaned against the tree for support, taking a few seconds to stop laughing. "I could've had a heart attack!"

"Alright, alright, sorry," he replied, calmer. He looked at them both, then back at the dirt track. "Let's have one last race before Lily goes on break. You better bring us back something!"

"Oh, shut it." Lily smiled at him, grabbing her bike. Nate put his phone on the ground, Terraria still on. She watched as Nate and Jeremy grabbed their own bikes, and they all lined up, Lily in the middle with Nate and Jeremy on the sides. They all felt excitement course through them, and dug their feet into the dirt, ready to push off. "First one to finish three laps wins. Three, two, one...go!"

They were off, each peddling with all their might. Dirt clouds flew up into the air as they made sharp turns; unfortunate for anyone behind them. They felt the breeze on their skin, almost like a gale with how fast they were going.

A chain got stuck—they all crashed. Tumbling into the rocks, they fell into darkness before they knew it.

The chip-tune from Nate's phone faded as Terraria turned off.

Lily was the first to wake up. Blue eyes stared not at a blue sky, but a ceiling. She shot up, feeling an intense pain spike through her back. She hissed, laying back down, before sitting up again, slowly this time. She felt her head—bandages. 'Bandages?' She processed more of the room—no dirt track in sight.

"Where am I?!" She jumped out of bed, unsteady on her feet. 'Not my smartest move...' She felt her head start pounding, holding her forehead with one hand. Nate and Jeremy were nowhere to be found; Lily bit her lip, nearly drawing blood. "Where are they...?"

The room was well-lit, a few candles around. The bed she sat on was the only thing in the room, besides a window with the curtains drawn. She felt discomfort come over her in waves, resisting her curiosity. She placed her hand along the wall, stumbling as her eyes rested on a door. She turned the knob, entering another room—

"Lily?" Jeremy made her almost fall over, her heart pounding in her chest. He backed up, eyes wide. "Sorry—is your head okay? It's all wrapped up!"

"It's fine, just a headache." She turned her head slightly, seeing a white bandage on his shoulder, peeking out from under his shirt. "You're not looking too good either. You okay?"

"Yeah. You should see Nate." Lily startled, before Jeremy pointed to the other side of the room. Nate lay there, bandages completely wrapped around both his forearms and his neck. His glasses were mostly intact, save for a crack lining them. Jeremy sighed, brow furrowing as he rubbed his arm. "He's not doing too well..."

"Nate!" Lily rushed over to him—his eyes opened slowly, as if he'd been sleeping a while. She looked at him, concern flashing in her eyes. "You okay?" It took him a moment to respond.

"...Yeah. Yeah." He nodded, taking her hand as she helped him up. They all stood up, looking around. "Anyone mind telling me where we are?"

"Why, you're in my house." The three backed up at the sight of an unfamiliar man, who gave them a small smile. His chestnut hair and simple clothes made him seem warm; however, they were wary. "You three were not in good shape when I found you, so I brought you here and bandaged you up. You three are destined to be the legendary heroes who save us all!"

They all blinked. He gave them a confused look. "The heroes who will save us from Ocram? Is any of this familiar to you?"

They all looked at each other, before shaking their heads. The man sighed, facepalming.

"We've got no idea what you're talking about," said Lily, glaring at him. "Now tell us where we are before I—"

"Wait." Nate stared at the man, a hint of something odd in his eyes. "You look...familiar. What's your name?"

"Phillip," the man replied. Nate almost fell to his knees, eyes going wide. He turned to Lily and Jeremy, voice a whisper.

"I think we're in Terraria."

"We're in what?!" Jeremy balked, looking from Phillip to Nate. "Did you hit your head too?!"

"...Hmm..." Lily put her finger to her chin, before turning back to Phillip. "So, Phillip, I've been meaning to ask: where exactly are we?"

"Why—" He pulled back the curtain of a nearby window, showing a star fall and bounce on the ground— "You're in Terraria!"

They all fainted.
