Sakura remembered her mother's advice though she hadn't taken it.

Heaven's not a place that you go when you die
It's that moment in life when you actually feel alive
So live for the moment
And take this advice, live by every word
Love is just a hoax so forget everything that you have heard (forget everything)

Her mother was strange in that sense. She didn't fill her head with thoughts of princes, of soul mates, of happy endings. She told Sakura of truths, truths she would have to learn to except to be a ninja. Maybe that's why she didn't listen. Maybe that's why she hoped for Sasuke, the perfect guy, to marry her and make everything perfect. Maybe it was to prove her mother, and the world, wrong. To show them that love conquered all and dreams didn't have to fail.

Harsh truths broke her down. Death was ever looming over a ninja's head; the moment was all they had. The next could be your last. So she vowed to become stronger, not the dream she once had. The dream that one day she would wake up with a strong bloodline that would give her prowess in battle, she now devoted time to training and worked for every once of skill she gained.

Princes weren't as princely as they were in fairy tales. They didn't leave their princesses with tears still trickling down their faces after confessing their love on cold cement benches unconscious, real princes did.

The morning after she had gone home posture heavy, bloodshot eyes downcast, and her mind a mess of regrets her mother had held her when she sobbed as the truth came crashing down upon her.

Years later found her living by her mother's creed, almost. "I love you, Sakura."

"I love you too, Naruto."

No, heaven's not a place that you go when you die
It's that moment in life when you touch him and you feel alive
So live for the moment
And take this advice, live by every word
Love's completely real, so forget anything that you've heard
And live for the moment now

((Well the words in italic are from The Spill Canvas "The Tide" I listened to this song and I just had to write a fan fiction incorporating them into it. I like it though I don't know if it's as smooth as I would have liked. Tell me if there are some problems with anything. Reviews are appreciated and the reviewer is loved more than words can encompass. –Cloey Marie-))
