AN: Hallo.

Here's another little drabble for you guys.

Italy just didn't seem like he was in a good mood. It was odd. Germany had never seen Italy when he wasn't smiling or being silly and childish. But now he was. He'd just returned from visiting his brother. That must have gone over pretty badly for him to be this distraught.

But then again..Germany knew the feeling. He was the same way when it came to his own elder brother.

Italy didn't bother to look up at Germany as he entered and took a seat nearby. He really wasn't in a good mood.

"Italy?"Germany asked, eyes confused.

No response. Probably lost in his thoughts. Germany thought.

He was careful as he got up and moved to kneel in front of the italian. He silently slipped his necklace off and turned it, carefully putting it around Italy's neck.

Italy looked at it in confusion before he met Germany's eyes. "What's this for..?"he asked quietly.

"Just trying to cheer you up. You always told me, back a few years ago, that you wanted to wear it."Germany said softly.

Italy gave a faint smile and hugged the German, startling him for a moment.

As soon as Germany got over his surprise at the sudden hug, he returned it before carefully pushing Italy back. "Sad doesn't fit you, you know."he said softly. "..I like it better when you're happy, because then...I get to see the real you."

Italy gave another small smile. "I love you,"he ventured.

While the two had been together for years, neither of them had ever gotten the courage up to tell the other 'I love you' before. They were too uncertain about it.

Germany managed a small smile of his own. "Ich liebe dich auch."he said softly before kissing the corner of Italy's mouth and meeting his eyes - which were now wide open again.

Though this time, it was in surprise.

Germany chuckled faintly at that. He understood where the surprise came from. He didn't normally show affection towards the small italian.

Italy's smile brightened and he leaned forward, capturing Germany's quickly. When he pulled back he smiled faintly, resting his forehead against Germany's.

While the day had started out pretty bad due to a visit to Romano, it had had a pretty good ending.

Oh my goodness...I'm sorry, guys.

I had to, I saw a picture of Italy with Germany's iron cross on..I had to write it.
