Crap.
There's a storm right now. I HATE storms. They scare me to death. I know what your thinking, how can a werewolf be scared of a silly storm?
Well it's not a 'silly storm'. It's a damn hurricane, and I've always been terrified of thunder storms, no matter how light or severe they are. They brought up bad memories for me. At the moment, I was curled up in a ball in my bed. I wanted Jake to come back from patrol.
I loved him. And right now, I needed him. I jumped and let out a sob when a loud crack of thunder ruptured in the sky. I was shivering...shivering with fear, obviously. Jake was brave. He could run patrols in this weather. Me? I can't come out from under the covers!
When was Jake coming back? I jumped out of my skin when someone touched me from behind.
"Ssh, Em. It's me." A familiar voice whispered.
I let out a breath of relief. It was Jake. I whipped my tears, but more fell. I turned around to face him. He laid down beside me and pulled me to his chest. He was like my security blanket. His warmth soothed me. His large, muscular arms wrapped around me, completely enveloping me.
His was so much larger than me, so I always felt safe with him. I flinched when another crack of thunder boomed. Jake whispered words of comfort, stroking my hair. I calmed some. I pressed as close I possibly could to him.
"It's alright hon, I'm here." He whispered after another loud crack od thunder.
I whimpered but nodded. He rubbed my back, and I slowly started to relax, despite the storm. I concentrated on his heartbeat, instead of the thunder. I smiled slightly as he hummed a tune, and I was content, as long as he was near. I tuned out the storm.
He sang to me in his soft, sweet voice.
